Mickey Rourke leaves The Expendables 2
It is said that Mickey Rourke did The Expendables as a favor to Sylvester Stallone, although there wasn't much financial incentive to reprise his role as Tool in the sequel.
Back in May, we reported Mickey Rourke is in talks to star in Seven Psychopaths, and it looks like this may be the actor's next project. Colin Farrell stars in Seven Psychopaths as a screenwriter suffering from writer's block. He finds unexpected motivation when he gets caught up in his friends' plot to kidnap a gangster's dog. Mickey Rourke will portray the gangster, while Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell play the writer's friends. Production is scheduled to start this fall.
In related The Expendables 2 news, cast members Chuck Norris and Scott Adkins posted new set photos to their Facebook pages. Take a look at these new shots below.
The Expendables 2 comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li. The film is directed by Simon West.
Seven Psychopaths comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Olga Kurylenko, Tom Waits. The film is directed by Martin McDonagh.

the mick (tool) was my fav character,believe it or not,i was hoping that last time they would have given him more to do than sit around the tattoo shop and mope about an old flame,which he made the best out of but i would have expected more. i think danny trejo should come on board,remember machete when he did that pop a wheely in the air with guns a blazing on his handle bars, that was classic! Stalone if your listening ,bring back the mick in the 3rd one or something, and how about a sequeal to cobra . stallone plays a no nonsense cop who will stop at nothing when it come to taking out the garbage.. like cobra says " i don't deal with phychoes i putem away" . He drives a car similar to the truck you see in the expendables.

stallone to me was my first ever hero--i respect and admire him probably more than any other movie star ever--he's just as amazing looking now as he ever was--so inspiring to me to still see him at his best-if not better in some ways

@pjwolsker @Number1Wolverine,,,Since Rourke ccharacter was gonna get killed anyhow, they can just say his character got killed off screen before the events of the film and go on from there to how his daughteris out for revenge, corny but easy to cover the loss

@johnnyblazetb82 - I agree, i wanted to see Scott Adkins in this when they first started to plan the sequel. I also wanted Michael Jai White to be in this, but maybe they can get him for the next sequel.
And as @pjwolsker said wasn't he supposed to get killed off anyway, so it's not he couldn't just get killed off real quick and then do Seven Psychopaths (which sounds it's going to be a cool movie too by the way).
But i wonder how this will affect the script.
