Federico Alvarez is directing The Evil Dead from a screenplay by Diablo Cody. Last week we reported a synopsis for The Evil Dead was revealed, which is quite similar to the original classic The Evil Dead from 1981, with a bit of a twist. These friends now take a trip up to the cabin to help the lead character's sister kick her drug habit, and that's when they accidentally unleash the evil forces we've come to know and love.
It isn't known when production will begin on The Evil Dead.
Evil Dead was released April 5th, 2013 and stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, Elizabeth Blackmore, Phoenix Connolly, Jim McLarty, Sian Davis. The film is directed by Fede Alvarez.

Reminds of of Antichrist. I'm kinda stoked for this movie, mostly because I know Raimi is involved.
