The End Has Come for Bionic Woman

A re-built $50 million body wasn't enough to save Jamie Somers from her ultimate fate - cancellation. Hollywood.com reports that NBC has decided to end production on Bionic Woman.

Bionic Woman debuted strong, with nearly 14 million viewers for the first episode of the show, however by the eighth (and final) episode, viewership had dropped to just under 6 million viewers.

Production on the series had been suspended in November due to the WGA strike, leaving the cast and crew of the show to wonder about the ultimate fate of the show. But it now looks like Bionic Woman will join Journeyman on the list of freshman shows to be scrapped by NBC.

An inside source said "This is devastating news for the cast. They loved working on the program. Michelle (Ryan) is going to be very upset. This was a huge break for her--a chance in a lifetime. The show has been criticized. People complained about the poor storylines. But the writers have hardly any time to work with the characters. They were just getting used to them."

Sorry to see journeyman go. I was hoping bionic woman would be great but that was when I was forseeing the interaction between a deaf sibling who obviously had issues with her older sister( who now has technology inside of her that could cure said deaf girl of her disability). Following the show as they try to make it pass their issues with each other while jamie's trying to save her country one mission at a time would have been something.

This really sucks! Those of you insulting the actors are close-minded. The lead is a new actress, obviously she has to work up a little. The only part of the show that bothered me was the secrecy from her sister. Otherwise, I think the show had potentinal. I enjoyed it every week along with some friends that liked it very much as well. I do, however, agree that the advertising sucked. I really hope they consider brining it back to give it another chance. Give the writers some time to work on the characters.

Ha I so called this! When they had the previews for this on "The Twenty" in Regal Theaters over the summer I totally foresaw that this would bomb. I am so happy to see it go. Could not stand the advertisements along with the HORRENDOUS acting. Good riddance.

Glad to see the Bionic Boob head down the road. I'm pretty diappointed about Journeyman, though. That sucks I was starting to really get into that show. What's the haps on "Life"?
