Robin Williams is Hugo Strange?
"RW as Strange? Hmm..."
The rumors of Hugo Strange popping up in The Dark Knight Rises have been persistent as of late. It was once thought that Tom Hardy would play the villainous character, although it was later confirmed that Tom Hardy is portraying Bane.
It isn't clear where Batman On Film received their information from, or if that information is even valid.
The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

That would just be weird...even tho Hugo Strange would be a great choice. It'd be bad timing though since Arkham CIty centers around Hugo Strange.

idk if anyone has seen Robin Williams lately but he will be on 20/20 tonight, but i just saw a preview for 20/20 while flipping through channels and he has a beard growing looking SORTA like a Hugo Strange Beard(maybe a Nolan version of a Hugo Strange beard) but its kind of adding up now

Batman spotted in Liverpool, England, good pic obviously not related to TDKR, but if I remember correctly one of the Batman movies was set to film here in Liverpool at the Albert Dock.

That would be Awesome!!! If you've seen Insomnia, one of Nolan's earlier films, you will see that Williams is skillful at portraying a creepy psychological foe. I think he would portray Hugo Strange quite well. Also I hope Nolan plans on using either Strange or the Blackmask because the usage of just Bane and Catwoman could prove to be pretty bland.

I think this a really interesting idea. Nolan already worked with Williams in a villain type role in Insomnia and it really worked fairly well. I'm not putting much faith in a single tweet but if this is true, and Bane takes a backseat to Strange as the main villain, I think this could very well be great news.

he shud def. be in the batman movie...he wanted to play riddler in the next batman film but of course they arent doing the riddler..plus he wud be to old for the riddler..but hugo is perfect for him! and i really hope this is true and i agree with 1 of the ppl..saying having 3 new characters in the movie wud kind of kill it...seems like a lil to much..like how they did wit spiderman 3 and X3 or w/e he said...but main point..RW for HUGO all the WAY!...i can see this happening..ur gon have a crazy guy hugo doing experiments on Bane and makin him be his killer doin w/e and catwoman comes along..its a good idea but its just a rumor but we have to wait and see if this is true..and if it is..i will Sh*t my pantS!

I must admit I wouldn't of thought of casting him as Hugo Stage but whatever actor Nolan choses, I'm sure will be the best. Also Robin Williams acted for Nolan in another one of his movies, Insomnia, so after seeing that, I'm conviced he could pull of the role. Let's just wait and see if this is really true...

@Sherlock: Yeah, see those. RW's comedic roles have obviously slipped, as he's best in comedy in his stand up routine, but he's capable of being dramatic. He even blended both in "Patch Adams" to an extent.
