Christopher Nolan isn't just being coy with the press in regards to his plans for the upcoming sequel The Dark Knight Rises. He is also keeping all of the known details away from those individuals most important to the comic book adventure, lead actor Christian Bale and composer Hans Zimmer. Both gave recent updates about their involvement in The Dark Knight Rises.

First up is Bale, who had not much to offer other than that he has total faith in Nolan:

"Sure, I know a little more about it than is in the press, but Chris will tell me what I need to know when I need to know it. It's our fourth movie together. I've got faith in him."


Hans Zimmer had a little more to offer on the subject, saying:

"I'm thinking. I'm working. And I can't tell you anything more. The thing about Chris and myself is, we treat each one with the autonomy it deserves. I try to invent and reinvent and not just go over old ground. I think that's the thing that was so exciting for people on The Dark Knight.' They knew we were doing a 'Batman' movie, but they had no idea it was going to be that sort of a 'Batman' movie. Chris likes that I can give him music before he starts [editing the film]. It's very different."


The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

    TDK Rises will be tying back to Batman Begins. TDK only picked up where it left off then went on into its own amazing story. But in TDK Rises we should expect more from the league of shadows who originally set out to destroy Gotham. There are only speculations of who Tom Hardy will play. For all we know he could be Robin the boy wonder, lol! But one thing is certain, Nolan said he wouldn't make this unless he absolutely loved the story. So whatever is to become of Batman 3, it should be nothing less than EPIC! Return of the King and Toy Story 3 style. Not Spider-Man 3.

    yes i think Nolan and co. should only release a teaser/poster (teaser would be better) and nothing else just leave it a complete mystery, it be a total surprise and i would love him for that

    has we all know we dont need news to know this will be good, because its C.Nolan (look at Inception)

    I think both Nolan and Zimmer and Bale -I mean the "whole cast and crew"- will do their best for the last Batman. But I also hope that this secrecy won't be blown up with developments that are under the expectances. That is the thing that I don't expect from Nolan either, so a great movie should be on the way.

    @Furankisan, shooting hasn't even commenced yet bro. Lol. Teaser poster? Maybe in 6 months.

    @ejk, I just remembered the marketing campaign for TDK. Probably the best viral campaign ever. They teased a few leaked photos the first 8 months or so. Then they released the 'Watch the World Burn" teaser to leave us dangling (which it more than did). Then a few months later, with I Am Legend, we finally got the trailer and opening scene, and then the next 6 months equaled: gradual bombardment. Gonna be crazy come TDKR. :)
