The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Description

The first trailer for Warner Bros. highly-anticipated superhero tale The Dark Knight Rises will be shown in theaters this weekend, attached to prints of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. An early description of the trailer has been posted, which you can read below. Be warned though, if you want to be surprised by the first trailer this weekend, then read no further. Otherwise, read the full description below.

"Alright sir, here it is. I'm doing this on my phone so I'm sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes.

-Trailer opens with studio logos set on top of the blue flame from Dark Knight.

Start panning up some buildings, but to screen card. EVERY HERO HAS A JOURNEY.

Cuts to a shot from Begins with Bruce walking up to that Village when he's looking for Ra's

Screen Card: EVERY HERO HAS AN END

Ra's voice over: If you make yourself more than just a man. If you devout yourself to be ideal. And you become something else entirely. A legend Mr. Wayne....A LEGEND!

Screen Card: THE EPIC CONCLUSION

Cut to Gordon in a hospital bed laying on his side. Looks to be in serious pain. Has A breathing mask on. Is talking to someone.

Gordon: We were in this together, then you were gone.......Now this Evil rises. The Batman.....HAS to come back.(all this is said in a very raspy voice, in much pain)

Bruce/Batman(its not shown who he's talking to, so don't know in which form Bruce is visiting him in. My guess would be as Bruce Wayne) : What if he doesn't exist anymore?

This part is the hardest to understand in the entire trailer, I listened to it at least 10 times but the score is over powering here and Gordon is having trouble talking. It sounds like if says Humor me while trying to laugh. I might be wrong here, full disclosure.

During this quick talk we're shown a shot of the bat cycle when it drives up the ramp from Dark Knight, Gordon destroying the Act Signal all cut in with the Hospital. As well as super fast flashes of Bane's face.

Pan up crumbling buildings to reveal the teaser poster, the camera zooms to the white opening and on an all white screen the title appears. The score reaches a fever pitch before turning over to The chanting from the website.

The Dark Knight Rises

Fades to black and then we see Batman backing away from something, then Bane enters from the left side of the screen. Very quick shot then the trailers done."

A small photo was also taken from the trailer, featuring the Batman logo, which you can take a look at below.

@ghostman...i think its better they use the stock footage from the past films just for the teaser to keep it simple, and the lil glimpse at the end should have us waiting for more for what they will show when the full trailer is revealed...

the voice over work will probably be similiar to TDK teaser where u just heard Bruce and Alfred conversating before The Jokers voice jumped in with him laughing, this time it will be between Bruce/Batman and Gordan leading to the chanting weve heard from the site

This sounds great. It recaps previous events leading to the finale, then a few brief glimpses of what's to come, and over. Anxious to actually see it.

    Gordon hospitalized due to:

Stess of having to handle protecting Gotham on his own from Bane and the league of Shadows, as well as criminals contributing to crime and destruction of Gotham City

Maybe betrayed by one of the various bad cops, the mob or politcians to get him out of the way for their own agendas...

or just got messed up by Bane due to his connection to Batman

@Salem6777: I gotta get 5. 3 are for my buds at the midnight showing, and 2 are for me! 1 for midnight, and 1 for Sunday. Seeing as I'm the most linguistic in theaters and times etc, I buy the advanced tickets and collect reimbursements. I got 3 "TDK" tickets 10 days in advance for the midnight screening, and we showed up at 9:30 and ended up sitting in the second row. I still managed to snag a Sunday seat at the door and got middle rows which was awesome. That's the only benefit to living in a quiet town. Shorter lines at the end of weekends!

  16. the Narrator

@RoyalFarms, while this could be fake, I doubt someone would make up the scenes mentioned in the film, as no one has anything to profit from lying about the teaser when it'll be released just a few days from now. Think about it. Eh? If anything I'd be glad to see the teaser be something else, but if this is the teaser, it still sounds pretty cool. It would suck if you were building up Nolan's abilities at teasing, only to find out that you were wrong and Nolan and Co. did release this "ridiculous sh*t". Lol. You'd really sound like a dumb-ass then, wouldn't you think?

do you guys actually believe any of this? i dont know why movieweb posts this ridiculous sh*t. great screen shot of the poster photoshop'd in a theatre. totally sells it.

completely absurd. basically a description of the previous films, with the known fact that bane is in it? and the title cards? do you really think the words "THE EPIC CONCLUSION" are going to be in TDKR trailer? pretty much every nolan trailer has been unique and imaginative in its own way. its not going to have a standard teaser trailer feel. i mean...do i even have to bring up TDK trailer?? this isn't a michael bay. this is bats. and c nolan. TDKR trailer is going to blow all our minds, unlike this fake story.

@slysnide, by all means feel free to share your theory, friend. I enjoy whipping up "could-be's" and "what if's" with you guys.

As for the trailer releasing footage, all I felt is that the old reused clips don't really seem necessary, ya know? Ominous is the way I'd apraoch the films, and slapping on old footage seems easier and less subtle. It's basically telling people that this is a Batman movie, in case they didn't know, out of some unknown fear of not making their money's worth? Which is absolutely ridiculous, lol. Idk. We'll see. Whatever my thoughts on the matter, it still sounds uber cool for a teaser.

  23. slysnide

@narrator: Footage aint that bad. Montage of clips from the previous films with some new brief footage and dialogue after their synopsis being 1yr overdue makes it right. Plus it undeniably confirms the return of the League of Shadows, opening the floodgates for those close to start getting a synopsis outta somebody. For I doubt this will be a destroy Gotham story. They did that once, and they're going with villains whom are no-names to average moviegoers. I still think Talia & Strange are in this. I've cracked my own theory on how that'd work reasonably.

  25. the Narrator

@slysnide, agreed. To be honest, I don't really want footage yet either. The fantastic thing about the teaser for TDK, was no one had the tone down yet, and when the teaser solely relied on the dialogue of the three characters talking, as well as their delivery, it was fantastic. Showing clips this early seems a bit too much, but it is a finale after all, so leave it to the ad boys to show something.

  27. slysnide

@shuabert: They probably want average moviegoers to become curious about Bane, as they too would be interested in finding out who the villain(s) is (are) after seeing this. Seeing as Bane is lesser known and must be redeemed after "B&R", they're giving him top billing

  28. slysnide

Surprised that they're actually tagging footage with this. TDK's teaser was released 2.5 months after production ended and it had only soundbytes.
