The Dark Knight Rises script due Monday
"Chris Nolan told me his The Dark Knight Rises script is due Monday or he's in big trouble. Big trouble? What can they do? Fire him?"
This has caused much speculation in the fan world that both the plot and the sequel's main villains will be revealed sometime this coming week. We'll be sure to have that information as soon as it is released.
The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

@Narrator & @bane5000 & @moviegeek: I think you can grade it on TDK's heels. After all, both "TDK" and "BB" have been compared as proper takes on the traditional 1st & 2nd Act in a Trilogy, and what Nolan ultimately accomplished with "TDK" was perfecting a second act's drama with a third act's action & pacing. Hence, he won't need to top that action scale for #3. For when you go with Joker, that's the type of action you get. Since he's picked one of the lesser known villains (most likely given the DQed ones) then it's bound to have less action and be more of a drama, as there was little character development for Bruce Wayne, as with Rachel dead and Batman in exile, he's kinda got a fresh start to go with. Ergo, it will in a way be stand alone, but can easily be graded on TDK's heels for being a proper sequel done for story's sake, and not for making more money, as Nolan previously said he wouldn't do a third one given he had no story, and that most third acts are disappointments anyway. Ergo, "The Dark Knight Rises" should be just as good, but in a different way.

I heard they were going after the 'Prey' storyline which I had never heard about before this. , it sounds like a great story and an intelligent way to bring closure to this trilogy.

WB is playing a role any other company would do. If u are the star performer, the owner wants more out of u and fast....and if u delay stuff then they get disappointed. Same thing is happening with nolan. Poor guy needs to relax and keep his cool, and all they do is pressurise him by giving him a deadline. Anyways im sure tht nolan has already submitted by now :D

true.. @bane .As much as we all wanna see batman 3 already, it wouldnt hurt to push back,( if needed) as long as they get it right... Have they announced the villan yet?! If so i hope its bigger than joker or atleast a worthy bad guy who we actally care about like we did with joker. And i hope to god nolan changes his mind and returns for atleast 1 or 2 more films. but theres a wish i may never get. psh :P

Agreed. TDK went in a completely different direction than what BB was taken. I'm sure this film will follow suite, in that it will be it's own animal. All you can judge it on, is whether or not it ends the series justifiably, and if it is a worthy film period. To see if it reaches the same audience and message as TDK is asking too much, and possibly too little depending on how the film goes.

I don't see Nolan topping TDK. It seemed with TDK he had something sociological to say but use Batman as a vehicle to deliver subtext in his movie. If he can make third Batman that is just half as good I will be happy.

Nothing is gonna happen to him, I doubt it's even a big deal. They're not gonna bully the guy that made one of the highest grossing movies of all time. Nolan will be fine.

If WB was to fire Nolan..HUUUGGGEEE MISTAKE...that will just go to show they dont give a crap about the story, the franchise , the filmakers and the fans, they just want the money and on to the next project, Nolan appreciates the fans as much as we appreciate him as a great filmaker...

@JasonKat...If it gets pushed back, that would be ok, cuz atleast it will give them time to get the script on the right track, instead of rushing it just cuz WB wants to get it going and get the money in their pockets no matter if the story is good or bad...

Not expecting any solid news this week. Just because he has to turn in the script by Monday, doesn't mean he's gonna confirm/deny anything the following few days, nor will it get leaked (hell, they'll have the script sealed tighter than a crabs butox).
Also, after reading the above comment, I agree with @ejk. The statement is uber vague, and really doesn't require fans getting riled up. My bet is also that it's on Nolans time table.

They won't do anything. Like I said before, we don't even know if Nolan will be in trouble with the studio, or if he will just be upsetting his own timeline. Again, the quote by Cohen is vague, without any necessary info to come to a concrete conclusion.
