Naomi Watts may star as Vicki Vale in The Dark Knight Rises
Another story reveals that another group of high-profile actresses are in the testing process for The Dark Knight Rises. Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley will all reportedly test for roles within the next two weeks. Gemma Arterton was also said to test for a role, although it seems unlikely now that she landed a lead role in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
Although this is also unconfirmed at this time, The Dark Knight Rises is said to have a shooting schedule starting on May 6, with post-production beginning on November 28. The new Batman adventure will shoot on location in Los Angeles, Detroit and the U.K., according to a report from last week.
There are also new details on the designs of a new Batmobile and a renovated Batcave. The new Tumbler is said to be "sleeker" although it will still house all of Batman's necessary gadgets. They will apparently go with a more modern look for the Batcave as well, setting up the "Batcomputer" and a new storage area for the "Batsuits." It has also been suggested that the "Batsuit" will be revamped as well.
The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Liam Neeson, Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Aidan Gillen, Marion Cotillard. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

I would be ok with either of these casting decisions, but I'm mostly just excited at the almost certainty of Talia being in the movie. It seems Nolan is really trying to tie his trilogy together. Let's just hope he doesn't try to do too much.

u know most of these names are runor only (though there aren't many in hollywood who would turn down this project)... no way nolan will let cast eclipse the great story or story telling.

i will believe all this when it is confirmed but i do hope they are involved and i would love to see talia in the film along with a updated batcave ,however i think the batmobile was fine before he blew it up, but i have more than enough faith nolan will not over do it,

Wow @ejk. It's more than plausible, I'm sure, but I think the best overall way to keep a secret (as I think you mentioned) is to release a sh*t load of rumors (such as what they're doing) and keep it coming. None of which have anything to do with the film of course. Then bit by bit, in a years time, release information that counters said rumors. If the reception from the rumors seems too negative, they may have to quickly announce that that's not the direction the film is taking, just to keep fan boys interested in the film. But in this case they really won't have to worry, seeing as how most fans fully trust Nolan now, and don't doubt him due to his near flawless career and triumphant success in the Batman films (I'm not one of them mind you).
Going back, continuing to release rumors that make fan boys happy and keep interest in the film is the perfect way to block what's really going on, and in that sense I agree with you. the whole false shooting locations thing... we'll see. I still hope he shoots in Chicago, simply for continuity reasons. Especially since Chicago was so supportive of the film.

Let me further this theory of mine a little bit. I just reread the article, and I find it very interesting that he's going to be shooting in three different locations. Who knows what will be shot at each location, and what will be used from each? For all we know, one of those locations could be a red herring. He may shoot there, but have no intention of using the footage, except for throwing everyone off the trail. Yes, I do know that I may be reaching into some deep conspiracy theory here, but this is WB and DC's 800 lb. gorilla. This is taking on Disney/Marvel twice: The Avengers and Spider-Man(although not really head-to-head, but we all know these films will be compared to each other). WB may be willing to fork over big money to protect its interest in gaining millions more. It may be far out there, but could be something to think about.

@Zany, eventually he will reveal some things, but if I were a betting man, I wouldn't expect any vital info such as plot points until late 2011 or early 2012. He has no reason to let us in, especially with all the attention he's getting by not telling.

Interesting theory @ejk1, and what's been "announced" (mostly without confirmation) thus far supports it; withholding information -plot, villains, new additions, etc.- will be difficult, especially with the all the attention TDKR has and will receive as the date draws closer, but I believe secrecy is the best route, if this truly is the end of the franchise under Nolan. I doubt that Nolan will have a problem keeping everything quiet. Very few details about Inception slipped through prior to the release. The less info I know about a movie, the more enjoyable I find the finished product.

I read some interesting things over the last two days on TDKR, thanks to MW and IGN. The one thing I will say is this: With all of these names and rumors swirling about, I believe Nolan and his crew are creating one hell of a smoke screen, and have no plans to divulge anything relevant until the final possible minute.

I don't know if harley quinn would've been in this movie, but my picks for her would've been either lady gaga (if she can act obviously) or hannah murray, thinking about it now though, Anne Hathaway is a pretty awesome actress for the role if its open.
