The Dark Knight Rises may feature a resurrected Ra's Al Ghul
The Dark Knight Rises is currently in production in London, working towards a release date scheduled for July 20, 2012. As is the case with most Christopher Nolan Batman movies, the plot is being kept under tight wraps, but it seems one intriguing tidbit has been leaked. Be warned, though, there may be severe plot spoilers for The Dark Knight Rises, so read on at your own risk.

*******************SPOILER*********************

On Monday, actor Liam Neeson was spotted on the London set shooting a scene as his Batman Begins character, Ra's Al Ghul. It isn't known if the scene in question is a flashback, or if it is set in the present day and he is somehow resurrected, possibly by the Lazarus Pits. Back in May, we showed you some cryptic shots from the Jodhpur, India set, which are believed to be the Lazarus Pits.

Josh Pence is playing a younger version of Ra's Al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises, although it is not known how this younger character, or Liam Neeson's version will fit into the story. Liam Neeson filmed his part on Monday, and was spotted in New York City on Tuesday for the premiere of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway. It isn't know if Liam Neeson will return for more filming.

We do know that Christopher Nolan is directing The Dark Knight Rises from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Aside from the confirmed cast members, we don't know much more than that, but we'll continue to keep you posted with any and all The Dark Knight Rises news as soon as it happens.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

a flashback or a closing scene with him walking into a room disappointed with Thalia for not being able to kill batman and instead turning him into a hero.

@ejk1...True dude, i wont believe anything till it comes from Nolan himself or i see it in the film, but still im excited to see how this turns out and wat kind of twists and personal touches Nolan gives to the story and the characters and hope it ends to be one of the few great trilogies out there in film

@ejk1 Huh, interesting theory. But don't think that going into TDKR. You might be wrong and Ras Al Ghul could just be flashbacks.

We already knew there was going to be a young RAG in this, so more than likely IF Neeson is even in the movie, he'll be portraying his character in flashbacks. If I had to place bets on it, I'd say RAG is probably in the film mostly to set up back story for Bane and possibly Talia (if Marion Cotillard's character is revealed to be she).

@bane5000 Leave it to Nolan to keep us all guessing, right? I also seem to recall Neeson saying that he wasn't going to be part of this, and now...let's just say I never believe anything connected to a Nolan film anymore.

@ejk1...None taken, for a sec i thought u were singling people out, but now i see u werent, and its true what u said bout having the edge on people by making them think The Pit is just a magic trick when it very well could be the reason he can cheat death, like he said to Bruce in Begins " but is Ra's Al Ghul immortal ?, are his methods supernatural ? " to where Bruce responded " Or a cheap parlor tricks to conceal your true identity, Ra's "...maybe, just maybe, his methods are supernatural afterall, little did Bruce know...

to be ressurrected by the lazarus pits is the obvious next step. christopher nolan is now producing a film about a man from space. goddamn it!!!!!! the "realism" thing just went out the window. now it's all back to credibility(of the storyarch that is)and presentation.

@ejk1: Didn't you get that dead, rotting, burnt carcass that I sent you. I FedExed it about six years ago. :P

But seriously, that is very true. There was no body, nor a mention of a body at any point. I think that'd be an excellent question to ask Nolan, because he gave a flat answer as regards Two-Face. Reporters should've been all over that topic a few years ago; now it's closed, or at least it will be until July 2012. I don't care if he survived or if they use this magical Lazurus Pit (as I've stated before, I am no comic book connoisseur). I am sure Nolan will make it work. There was nothing realistic about Inception, but he still gave enough explanation to fool the audience. He must have thick sleeves, because he's got a lot up them.

@bane5000 Don't take offense bro, I just ran down the first name sI saw on the thread. Like I said, I got tired of tagging, so I said everyone else. But like I said, no body was seen, so there's a good chance he never died to begin with. As for the Pit, he could just use it as an intimidating spectacle, like a magic trick. If Ras can make everyone believe he is supernatural, hegains an edge on them. Basically, it's no different than Bruce using a bat costume to strike fear into the hearts of his enemies.

  21. Bane5000

@ejk1...I never mentioned he was dead, all i said is if Neeson was being being used for a flashback or present day Ras, i was kool with either one. The only argument other people make that Ras is dead is cuz of Nolans focus on realism instead of the supernatural aspect of Batman, but if he does decide to bring back Ras via the Lazurus Pit then i guess the supernatural touch to the films isnt to much of a concern to him after all which is alright with me since that is a big part of Ras mythos...but as i said buddy, i never mentioned or took a side on wether he was dead or not

@jimthar@SpaceCowboy@bane5000@zanyzap@k-man and everyone else that I don't feel like tagging. Has it occurred to any of you that Ras Al Ghul may not have died? From what I remember, we never saw the body, and one of the main rules concerning anything comic related is this: No body, no death. Unless one of you can produce visual evidence of the man's death, like his rotting, burnt carcas, I don't believe Al Ghul is dead.

hsss...... Flashback would be more likely..... It would be sticking to the feel that BB and TDK brought back then, which, the things that happen in the movie can actually happen. But to infuse "resurrection" would mean that the movie's Universe would be bordering on supernatural, and that would be something of a different feel.......It could be awesome, ....actually, it will be awesome....but it might feel a little different than the others...
