Anne Hathaway discusses a possible Catwoman spin-off from The Dark Knight Rises
One of the new elements in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises is the introduction of Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle/Catwoman into the director's Batman universe. While we know this is the filmmaker's final installment of the trilogy, Warner Bros. is likely concocting another reboot of the iconic superhero, or perhaps a spin-off. The actress revealed in a recent interview that she would be interested in making a new Catwoman movie, provided that Christopher Nolan is at the helm.

"I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."

Christopher Nolan hasn't announced what his follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises will be, although he has made it clear that this is his final foray into the Batman universe.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

@skywise which is also why Sinestro Corps tried to recruit him! I've read the comics! haha

@mcleve02 Batman is scary and the JLA should come to him and confront him about his method scaring the average citizen. The Jla were very skptical of his ethods in the begining. He utilizes that fear to panic his enemies. i think a good LA would deal with that aspect from the comic books.

@mcleve02 I would like to see something along the lines of the invasion made in The Batman where all of Gotham's heroes and Villains team up to fight right before the JLA season

The reason I can related to Bats is because I'm a loner by nature but like the company of people when it suites me.
The Marvel superheroes make mistakes and they own up on it either their ant-hero or not. Where ever Batman thinks that he's figured out everything.
I've always found that each member of JLA seem to go by their own drum than work together as a team.

  7. THE JOKER

@skywise Not to mention the beauty behind their writing... Batman looks scary and should be so, but actually represents good... Joker is a clown who looks happy and good, but is well the Joker... Shows not to judge a book by its cover to the max... Batman's writing is brilliant.. And as for Superman, I like him more so because I know what his character could be, not the way he has been portrayed for the most part!

    @themoviefanatic Thank God for that!

@mcleve02 Although, it may be a while until a Catwoman movie would be released anyway.

@mcleve02 I cant say I endorse that idea but i respect your opinion.

I hang my hat with the X Men because they are a team with specific powers who always rely on eachother and in the end always need eachother. That always rang true to me. Plus they were really just ordinary people with ordinary problems and that made them more relatable to me....at least more so than supes.

However there have been some fantastic Bat novels over the years. Grant Morrison did Arkham Asylum in the 80's which was AWESOME. It showed how Bats and Joker were 2 sides of the same coin and had either of their lives gone a different route their roles could have been reversed. It was one of Morrisons first stories. So I sort of understand where your coming from but I am also a little biased.

  10. THE JOKER

@skywise See I am a Marvel fan all the way, but my favorite heroes in DC (aka Batman and Superman) I like more than anyone in Marvel... especially Batman... His story is by far the richest out of all comic book characters I think...

@mcleve02 Couldnt gree more. In fact I was never a huge fan of DC...I am a Marvel diehard but I dabble in DC. And your point about the JLA formula is spot on. That is something that irritates me abot JLA and Supes in general.

I hang my hat with the X Men. They need eachother and because of their limited talents (unline the do it all supes) they rely on eachother and fall back on eachother tremendoucly. that always rung more true to me growing up. It made more sense and i related to them because they were mostly deeply flawed.

  12. THE JOKER

@skywise Plus, with JLA, the end always seems to be the same... The Villain is usually way too powerful for the League to handle, so Superman has to actually go and do the work... In all the shows, the video games, and a lot of the times in the comics as well... That's why I'm not as big of a fan of JLA as Avengers... They truly fight as a TEAM... where as JLA seems to do the best they can, and then make Superman finish

  13. skywise

@mcleve02 Yes, yes that is a brilliant idea. And originally Batman was considered a villian by the JLA because they thought he kidnapped and brainwashed Dick Grayson. That would make a perfect lead in to his joining the JLA and the conflicts that occured over that issue.

I want to see a JLA movie but i have a feeling they wont be the same actors as in the Supes and Bats movies. Marvel was wise enough to have their actors sign contracts for 8-10 movies so that continuity is precise. DC just doesnt seem to get it and really besides Bats...they dont really have good movies.

I am crossing my fingers for GL2 and Supes but i am not holding my breath

  14. THE JOKER

@skywise Well they definitely are working on making a JLA film, but I don't know how they will make Batman work in the film... I think it will be way to soon... I think they should do a film without him and end the film with Superman flying into Gotham City... After they do all the individuals films of course... This will give people time to get Nolan's Batman out of their heads, well to an extent anyways... IDK just my thoughts

They can do a Catwoman spin-off when Batman is reebooted. but not now. I hope DC focuses on setting up a movie universe so we finally get a Justice League movie.

I just dont see this happening. Chris Nolan is probably looking forward to moving on from the franchise and while he may produce any spin off i just cant see him sticking in the univere any longer.

  26. Mutant

a spin off would not work, I still want Nolan's Batman to continue and mix it with Superman's universe. To me it's the only reasonable way.
Like how many times we have to see his parents die, twice is enough for me unless they do the something new.

  27. ROFLitschristian

At least she understands it wouldn't work without Nolan and his team. She was a nice supporting character in TDKR, but a spin-off? Nay.

@ghostman 20 minutes means at least one less showing per day. Say it's a $12 ticket times a 250 person capacity, and thats $3000 "lost" in just one show. Multiply by every theater in America times each day of the weekend and it adds up quite a bit. Now do the same but adding for the 3D on The Avengers and there's most your difference.

@ghostman not sure if i agree... a lot of avengers numbers were because of the 3d right out of the gate, i think had it not been for the shooting and possibly 3d this would definately been huge its first weekend. It would have lessened the experience for me beings how i am no big fan of 3d but would have given wb more revenue based on ticket prices alone.
