The Dark Knight Rises Bane Blu-ray Featurette and Concept Art
Earlier this week, we showed you 45 photos from the Batman vs. Bane fight in The Dark Knight Rises, debuting on Blu-ray and DVD December 4. As it turns out, we have even more Bat-goodies to get you through the long weekend, in anticipation of this hot holiday title. We have two featurettes from the upcoming Blu-ray, one that explores the football scene where Bane (Tom Hardy) implodes the Gotham City football field, and another that shows Tom Hardy's impressive transformation into the iconic villain. We also have three concept art images that show a few of the earlier looks director Christopher Nolan experimented with for Bane, before settling on the villain's final look. Is it just me, or do these concept shots look like some sort of evil bird-human hybrid creatures? Or maybe masked professional wrestlers? At any rate, enjoy the Bane that could have been with these new images, which are featured on a behind-the-scenes documentary on The Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray special features.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012 and stars Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

Concept art is really bad... you made the right choice with the mask you went with

@bryanyentz totally agree with you on that one.

Umm, so a first grader was allowed to do the concept illustrations? Hilariously terrible.

@ROFLitschristian Yeah, you're right, it does look like a giant nose, lol :P.

@bane5000 Yes, you're right. That's something i would've liked to have seen in the movie instead, rather then him getting blasted by the Batpod.

@themoviefanatic...Also IMO they should've had Bane die slowly after Batman broke his mask in the last fight and than have Talia reveal herself in time for her to pay her respect to Bane for what he had done for her in the Pit, and maybe even use her line from the comics and tell Bane " goodbye, my BELOVED ". I feel that would've been more serious and emotional a death for him instead of just getting blasted all of a sudden by the Batpod :]

@themoviefanatic...I agree, also since the TDKR is based on The Dark Knight Returns, I can also see how Bane's mask and Bane's look himself has similiar representation of the Mutant Leader and how the muzzle over his mouth kind of looks like the Leaders sharpened teeth
Think about it...

@ROFLitschristian Well the middle picture is closest to what we got, minus those red and teal-looking colors. Some other comments I've seen elsewhere equate the first and third drawings to BDSM xD

@the-movieghost All of these are just so terrible, with any of them I would have been chuckling the entire time.

@bane5000 Yeah, i think the mask he has on in the movie is the best one.

@ROFLitschristian I had that same thought when I first saw it xD If they'd stuck with that, I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face at all.

The first one looks like he has a giant nose. Glad we got what we got. :P

The concept art reminds me of the mask Banes worn through the comics. Interesting how theyve tried to stay true to the comics but went with a better approach

From the looks of the concept art, I think we should count our blessings we got what we got in the film :]

I definitely like the design in the movie best, though the second pic looks pretty similar. The others look way too much like Spawn/the Shumacher Bane.

Interesting to see what approach they went with...
