when I saw the quick shot of JGL driving the camo tumbler with which looks like a arkham prison soldier as a passenger. I pictured John Blake being like a Jason Todd Character. Its a good way to give a couple of fans what they want with robin while still putting a twist on the story. John Blake wants to help batman like robin but also see Justice through Ras eyes where to sustain justice through permanent expulsion (red hood like the animated movie or like in the comics when he dressed up as nightwing killing criminals).

@edshu33: Batman did retire, for 8yrs leading into this film. The stakes are too high for everything to go back to normal at the end of this. I have a feeling Bane will succeed in destroying Gotham and killing Bruce Wayne, for as Bruce said in the first film, Batman is a symbol, and the joker somewhat succeeded at killing that symbol, but from the looks of all the bat logos in chalk, it seems Bane takes over early and people yearn for that symbol to return. Thus the legend lives, even if Bruce doesn't. For if Batman simply returned, then the 'Rises' title isn't appropriate, and given how high the stakes are as I mentioned, then Bruce probably won't succeed in stopping Bane, but Batman will as a symbol. Thus, he rises.

@darkmarkman Of course the movie's incredibleness and Ledger's acting helped out. And, Batman doesn't retire! I think it would be neat if they did a Batman reboot where he was an old man, and he could be played by Clint Eastwood or Martin Sheen or Anthony Hopkins, that would be just plain awesome. If Batman lives through Dark Knight Rises, that is.

@slysnide@narrator@m2@thedude1@dess Yeap. I caved earlier today (Lol) and gave it a watch. Nothing all that revealing or surprising. I did love the line from Bane "Let the game(s) begin!" though.

Agh, only 11 more days... D:

@edshu33 actually if I recall Bruce was 29 and turned 30 during Batman Begins. He would have been 31 in TDK since the Joker said lets wind the clocks back a year ago. So in TDKR bruce is 39 going on 40. I could see him retiring at the end of this.

@edshu33 I think word of mouth about Ledger's performance, not his death, lead to the box office numbers for DK. And the fact the the movie was incredible, that might have been part of it as well.

@the-movieghost Sorry to be a douchebag, I'm just saying what I think. If about five percent of people saw the Dark KNight and thought it was too violent and they would never want to see that again, that will mean a five percent loss for DKR. Also, fewer people will take their kids to see this one after the unexpected violence of PG-13 Dark Knight shocked a lot of parents. So that makes about a ten percent loss, just because of its predecessor's unexpected graphic violence? Also, I hope Tom Hardy doesn't die- I think he's a great actor and probably a decent bloke too, so he deserves to live, and no ammount of box office gross is really worth his life. The fact of the matter is, Heath Ledger's death undeniably contributed to the success of The Dark Knight. How else would one explain that Dark Knight grossed over two times as much as its predecessor? (Begins made under four hundred million, whereas Dark Knight made over a billion.) Again, I wish Heath Ledger was still with us and I hate to speak in such callous terms, but it's hard to deny that Ledger's death did any harm to Dark Knight's box office success.

@narrator@the-movieghost@m2@thedude1@dess: I watched this last night. No spoilers here. Basically it's the same stuff we already know from the synopsis, and Nolan discussing, err, rather mentioning how the decisions Bruce and others made in the previous two films come back to haunt him. He doesn't get into specifics of course. He even laughs at how Bane's philosophy is unleashed on gotham, and that it's "nothing good." That was funny. But yeah, you'll all find more depth in our conversations than in this video.

Jesus?...Wow!...Okey dokey moving right along, far along from that one. Nolan is not Rami. TDKR will not be Spderman 3. As a matter of fact Rami's Spiderman is a totally different filmaking style. The first Spiderman was at the genisis of the new superhero movies. Like everything that evolves they all have become better. Look a the first X Men and First Class. FC was a lot more grounded and relatable by being anchored with a historical event. I like to believe that Nolan's DK movies had a lot to do with these much more enjoyable comic book movies. I believe TDKR will not fail. I also believe that it will over take that sappy sentimential piece of Cameron crap from second place in the all time box office standings. Just wish I thought it had the legs to take over the blue people too...lol

  16. the Narrator

@edshu33... Tom Hardy doesn't need to die for this film to make money along the lines of TDK's numbers, seeing as how the film is already tracking over 200mil in pre-ordered tickets. Nobody has to die, really. In fact, that's kind of offensive.

Also, as much as I'd honestly like to see a superhero die on screen for once, and I have no doubt Nolan could pull it off, I'm calling foul on him dying. It's just too damn predictable. I'm expecting some deaths, but Bruce hasn't been on that list for a while.

It is known for a fact that this threequel will take place eight years after The Dark Knight. In the movie, Bruce Wayne has taken responsibility for the crimes of Harvey Dent (to protect his legacy), and thus had to flee Gotham City. Dent's term in office has left the city fairly clean of crime, but Tom Hardy emerges as Bane, the incredibly smart and powerful supervillain who sends the city into panic. Catwoman will also be in it, and she is presumably the same as every other Catwoman, that is to say beautiful and sexy and amazing I love Catwoman. Anyway, in the Batman comics, Bane is known for having broken Batman's back. However, Nolan's Batman movies are much more dark and realistic, and what's more dark and realistic than a broken back? Well, Bane kills Bruce Wayne, duh! Then, I assume Batman is replaced. Since Nolan made it clear that Robin will never appear in his Batman movies, I would place money on Bruce Wayne being replaced by John Blake. John Blake is a new Gotham City cop, who was pretty much invented by Nolan. He will be played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in case anyone cared. When Blake replaces Wayne, that will be the "Rising" suggested by the film's title. Also, the film's tagline is "The legend ends." Sounds good for a character who will die to me... As if this eveidence weren't enough, look at the years. In The Dark Knight, Wayne was twenty-five years old. In Rises, which takes place eight years after Dark Knight, he will be thirty-three- an age commonly believed to be the age of Jesus when he died. The resurrection of Jesus is just like the resurrection of Batman!

However, this does not mean that The Dark Knight Rises will be great. Remember the tremendous disappointment of Spider-Man 3? It could turn out like that. Sure, I wish the best for DKR, but it has a lot of iffy signs- many many new characters, incredible length, being a third movie in the franchise... I'm not saying it's going to suck, because the odds are it will be awesome. Just don't get your hopes up and have them crushed if this isn't as good as the Dark Knight. Of course, we all know that Tom Hardy will have to die very soon if this is going to gross anywhere close to as much as The Dark Knight.

    Simply breathtaking.

I was pumped for the film before, but not since just seeing this has my anticipation of TDKR reached the same zone as it was when TDK came out. The brief bits of new footage, alongside Zimmer's wonderful new musical pieces, and some of the cast and crews rather intelligent comments make this all the more real and insane for me.

I simply can't wait for this finale.
