The CW Picks Up Vampire Diaries Pilot
The new show comes to us from Alloy Entertainment whose other books have led to such CW series as Gossip Girl and Privileged.
The Vampire Diaries was published in 1993. The books were originally written by L.J. Smith. The story is set around a young lady who is trying to choose between two vampire brothers.
Kevin Williamson will executive produce and write this show.

ive never seen Vampire Diaries or Gossip Girl but I sort of hope they put it in the direction of like...Supernatural or...True Blood because if they make it like 90210, I will freak like EternallyDamons will

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!!!!!! Vampire Diaries is one of my favorite series! If the CW freaking turns this into Gossip Girl with fangs I will be SERIOUSLY pissed off. The only reason that I tolerate the CW at all is because of Supernatural. The best and most underappreciated show on that freaking station. I can only hope that the quality of this show leans more in the SN direction and no where near the Gossip Girl direction. I swear if they get some stupid talentless pretty boy to play Stephen or Damon-or Matt for that matter I will be PISSED. And if they get stupid B*tches who can't act to play Elena, Merideth, or Bonnie....I can't even convery how mad and how blasphemous that would be. All I can say is they BETTER NOT ruin L.J. Smith's fantastic story.

LOLZ. I frequent Wal-Mart, Killer, so don't feel so bad. VIS... When I look into Hollister, I see Evil Spirits. That's a store I forgot to mention in my tirade. Killer, KISS is my all time favorite band EVER! So Right on! POLO... ACK! lmfao.

in super hero movies the plot can expands more. vampires before was all killing and blood drinking and hating the sunlight. now its hunting and forbidden love and what not. and after every vampire book, they're making a movie right out of it or show. you have liked vampires probably since forever but the "trend" last year was vampires, so thats how hollywood and stores like hot topic used that trend to sell and get profit. some hero movies are going overboard like Watchmen. lmao jk Vis..

I wasn't saying that they were watched more than Superhero movies. I'm just saying that lately, more Superhero movies have been made than Vampire movies. IN fact, there've been very few Vampire movies lately..... So saying that they're going overboard, to me anyway, doesn't really make sense.....

Yes, I agree that some comic book adaptations go overboard. They're starting to write scripts for them even before the comic is released. That's just stupid. However, people actually see super hero movies. They make the big bucks-Spider-Man, Iron Man, TDK...Underworld 3 lost out the top box office to f*cking Mall Cop lmao I'm not saying that it's not a good movie, I'm just saying that not as many people are interested

Um.....no.
A "spinoff" is a character breaking away from a story and having their own with a focus on them. That's what "Angel" was.
A "ripoff" is an weak imitation of another story in an attempt to make money and exploit it. Edward and Belle ripped off Buffy and Angel...only Buffy is more badass. THIS, while originally wrote before either, is only being produced to capitilize on the current "vampire love" trend.
And as far as Superhero movies......at least our characters are more interesting, badass and unique.

They have not gone too overboard with Vampires, Flrep. If you ask me, as much as I love them, they're STARTING to go overboard with superhero adaptations. ANd no... It's NOT just a f*cking rip off of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." If that were true, you shouldn't have said "Angel" because if you want to be technical, THAT was a rip off of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
I'm actually reading this series of books right now. I'm on the second one, and they're VERY good. The vampire/romance angle is there, but this was BEFORE "Twilight" so don't start the rip-off bullsh*t. This one has more Vampire action. They've got all sorts of mind powers and such, as well as the fangs, and they BURN in the sun. I recommend the books to anyone looking for a good read.
I'm so PSYCHED that they're actually putting this into a TV show, and I'm DEFINITELY going to stay tuned in to this one.
