The Crow Remake Picking Up Steam

The remake of a 1994 cult classic could be moving forward very soon. Comics2Film is reporting that the new script draft of Stephen Norrington's remake of The Crow has been, "very well-received" by Relativity Media.

We reported back in December that Norrington would be writing and directing the remake for Relativity, but news on the project has been scant ever since. The site is now reporting that things are picking up for the remake as the project has shifted into casting mode.

Check back here as we'll be sure to keep you posted on any new developments surrounding this remake of The Crow as soon as more information arrives.

The Crow was released May 11th, 1994 and stars Brandon Lee, Rochelle Davis, Ernie Hudson, Michael Wincott, Ling Bai, Sofia Shinas, Anna Levine, David Patrick Kelly. The film is directed by Alex Proyas.

too true space101, though its a damn shame brandons tragedy happened to soon on the set of this movie, it established that he made this movie the succes it still is till this day among fans, which is the reason no matter how many sequels or remakes will be made from this franchise, it will not be the equal to the original in our minds and hearts

brandon lee is the crow...and the crow will never be as great without brandon lee

Nothing can replace the orginal Crow movie. Brandon Lee made this movie and died with it.

Hell I was ten years old when this movie came out.I may have been young but I'll be damned if I did not enjoy it.Graves I'm with you when it comes to the boycot by the way.And I agree with bane. The new generation will know nothing of the original if they do this remake.F*ck these hollywood pricks.Get a new idea already.

its isnt were mad that if they remake the crow that the original will fade away

its just that the new narrow-sighted generation will probably eat this new version up without knowing bout the original and how great of a movie it was

and give praise to this remake when it probably wouldnt even come close to the style and passion the original carries with it...

People need to chill out! It's just a remake, if it's good then I'll watch it again, if it's bad I'll stick to the origional!

People go on as if the origional will dissapear if this is made, WELL IT WON'T!!!

I love The Crow so I'll watch it and hope for the best, if it's bad then who cares!

What's next, Jurassic Park remake? Or Matrix remake for that matter... kinda pointless and more of a question of "why?"

Wow. Where's celliod dreams to say "another f*cking remake" haha. But seriously though, this is definitely one they shouldn't touch. Unless they somehow make it way darker than it already is, there's no way it will touch the original (like Ed said).

Okay...okay, okay...I realize the new 'trend' in Hollywood is to be emphatically lazy and remake films that should NOT be touched, and realizing the fact that the original 'Crow' film stands monumentally ALONE, and that the sequels and, thank God, the short-lived tv series were the worst things on celluloid since my mother-in-laws 5th wedding, it stands to be said that this piece of film history should not be touched...PUT DOWN THE 10 FOOT POLE!!! What is going on in Hollywood?! Doesn't anybody have a NEW idea?! What's next...gonna try and remake 'Blade Runner'? Let's be reminded of a little Tim Burton remake of 'Planet of the Apes'?! I think I've made my point, 'nuff said!

the original is one of my all time favorites , good story, good action, the grittiness and brandons acting was creepy, in a good way :]

leave this one alone norrington, go back to another blade movie like the first one u did which was the best

or continue with ur stupid idea of giving deacon frost his own origin movie just cuz stephen dorff needs something to do...i smell straight to dvd on that one

... I really don't understand remaking this. The first one conveyed the poetry of the GN amazingly, as well as the detroit grit...maybe not as much of the noir that it could have but it was enough.

This will just be some piece of sh*t gothic superhero movie with no meaning, or attempt at such.

Yeah, I share an opinion with Messenger... I'll see it, but I'm not as pumped for this one as I usually am for remakes...

i totally agree with MCPeterman. if they do this it would be an insult to Brandon. just like trying to recast the joker its just insane. they should really leave this alone. its a classic just the way it is. the 2nd one was ok but the 3rd and 4th one's just plain sucked. they really need to leave this alone

If they make it, so what, I will ALWAYS have the original.

  21. MCPeterman

This should not be done. The whole reason for this movies popularity is Brandon Lee. A remake will only flop. Thats like recasting Heath's joker.
