While Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's take on the material will never see the light of day, the project lays dormant at Relativity Media. Today, Bloody Disgusting got their hands on a few concept art images, offering a look at what might have been.
Famed comic artist Diego Latorre is responsible for these paintings, which show the likeness of Bradley Cooper dressed in The Crow's leather-clad rocker regalia. These are very early production sketches, and ahere to Diego Latorre's own interpretation of the character more-so than what Juan Carlos Fresnadillo may have been planning. Check them out below.

The Crow is in development and stars Luke Evans. The film is directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez.

Thanks, crazy enough i forgot to put The Crow on there lol. But you have a pretty good list too
1) Kick-Ass - Makes my top ten.
2) V for Vendetta - Is a good movie but i can't watch it all the time, it takes me to be in a certain mood inorder to watch it.
3) Sin City - All time favorite.
4) The Dark Knight - Great but makes the top ten.
5) Scott Pilgrim vs the World - Top five.
The first Turtles is such an underrated movie, it
stays true to the original source material, and for it to be made in the 90's pretty much shows that Hollywood had balls back then to make a dark film. And it has one of the best rap songs that just brings a smile to my face every time i hear it.

@moviemaniac66 - Hmm that's a very interesting perspective, and one that i trend to forget about. It's the unbalance nature that is happening in Hollywood that is really getting to me, i understand from a business point that it does cost money to license other properties but damn somebody needs to come out with something new. If it was a couple of remakes mixed with more original stuff then it would be all good, but now every single blockbuster is a remake . But your comment has really awakening me, i meant not go so hard on all remarks now so thank you ;).
@ROFLitschristian - True.
@ejk1 - I can agree with you on that, The Joker does have a wide range of material to work with where as The Crow really only has one story. And as for your list, in my opinion The Dark Knight is a great movie, and it's definitely what the Batman franchise needed But i personally wouldn't put it in my top five, maybe in my top ten. I'm probably one of the rare Batman fans who thinks that The Dark Knight was great, but it still has alot to improve.
@ejk1@SpaceCowboy -
Here's my list in random order
Spider Man
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Batman Returns
Sin City
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Please feel free to give me your opinion on the list. And i agree with you @ejk1 on your multiple viewings system, i still can't think even if you watch Captain America and Thor again that they will be your top five but that's just me.

@Number1Wolverine - I am not against this movie at all actually. the thing is, I don't mind reboots and remakes. Hollywood can remake as many movies as they want to because either way it is technically a win/win situation. If the remake is bad then we still have the original to watch and if the remake is good then we end up having two great adaptions of a source. That is why I don't really mind this movie being remade. As long as it is good then i am game.

This is not 'The Crow', the concept art does not have the feeling of it either.
They should leave this project alone or at least get some one else who could take this project in the same atmosphere the first one had...the only problem you can't capture that feeling you got from the first one in the 90's time, Just a different feeling.

@ejk1 Watchmen is pretty good, but wouldn't even surface my top 10. The Director's Cut was put together rather well, but as far as the Ultimate Cut goes I heard that the Black Freighter is spliced in very abrupbtly between scenes and slows down the pace of the film with choppy cuts. I haven't seen it so I don't know for sure. But my top 5 would be a little different than yours with a few of the same choices as yours
1) Kick-Ass
2) V for Vendetta
3) Sin City
4) The Dark Knight
5) Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Capt America, First Class, Wanted, Batman Begins and Iron Man would come afterwards but I kinda don't know in what order.

@SpaceCowboy Spider-Man 2's Train Scene fixes many faults. Road to Perdition is an acquired taste, but becomes worthier after each viewing, in my opinion. But also, like I said at the bottom, movies like Thor, Cap, First Class, and a History of Violence are not qualified because I have only seen them once or less. Watchmen may be up there once i see how the Tales of the Black Freighter has been integrated into it (TNT aired it as such, but I could not watch the film at that moment).

OK not the biggest fan of Bradley Cooper , When i heard this i was very dissappointed for one and another angry that Bardley Cooper would even be considered to play this role. Its laughable. Almost as laughable as remaking the Crow in the first place. Wat is going on in the world.

@ejk1 I'm gunna go ahead and jump in here... uhm... Spidey 2 and Perdition? Really? I never went near the source material for either of those films, but on screen they were both lacking. With Spidey 2 over Spidey 1 it managed to be more clumsy with dialog, less aggressive with Pete, and gave little and unbelievable motivation for the bad guy to turn bad. It was fun to watch, but that was about it. Road to Perdition was fine... except Jude Law barely did anything which made the ending all the more worse. Tom Hanks was not up to even half his potential in that movie. He was stiff and boring. But those are just my opinions.

@Number1Wolverine The difference between the Joker and the Crow is the number of stories that can be told. In the comics, there are dozens of Joker stories; there is only one Crow story. The Lee movie, at least from the parts of the book I have read and remember, did not stray too far from source material. But there was no follow up, which is why in my opinion the sequels were horrendous. They had nothing to glean info from. A reboot of The Crow will no doubt mimic many of the things that we saw in the first film--it has no choice but to do so. I'm not saying this will be bad if they go ahead with their vision, I just know I will look at it cautiously and wait for the consensus opinion before I pay to view. And you're right about dumb ideas being made into video games, but as of now i don't think The Crow has that major cross over appeal that DC and Marvel characters have in abundance, thanks in large part to the fact that they are in the big camps.
Top Five CBM's
1) The Dark Knight
2) Spider-Man 2
3) Batman Begins
4) Road to Perdition
5) Sin City
The Crow would go into the next five, along with Spider-Man and iron Man among others. I refuse to rank Cap and Thor yet because multiple viewings are required to make a top whatever list (in my opinion), and I have not fully seen A History of Violence yet to even ponder where I would place that film. Feel free to take all of that for what it is worth, my friend :)

@ejk1 - I don't think the character is link to Lee, that's like saying because of the death of Ledger that i will never want to see the Joker again. To me it's just out of respect that the project be handle right, that's like Nolan getting another actor to play the Joker after Ledger death. It's out of respect that he let's Ledger Joker RIP, the same should be with Lee. The handling of this project just seems wrong to me, it seems like their just trying to copy Lee for money more so then wanting to tell a good story while honoring his performance.
To me a good story leads to profit instead of the other way around, if the film was in black & white and was handled the right way i wouldn't have a problem with the reboot. One is because that's how the story was always meant to be, here's an interview with Lee saying how he would have loved to film the first Crow in it's original comic book format.

And two it would separate Lee Crow from the new movie while getting people to check out the old one. Come on man we have seen some of the dumbest ideals turned into a video game, so The Crow shouldn't be to hard of a stretch.

@SpaceCowboy - I know it's crazy because alot of talent people have been involved in the failed sequels including Edward Furlong ( John Connor from T2), Mark Dacascos ( Only The Strong), David Boreanaz ( Bones, Angel), and Thomas Jane ( Punisher). And let i didn't even know it had sequels until i looked it up online, that tells you how bad they did.

Oddly....... not nearly as bad as I thought. He would look actually cool if this was for a different movie; after Limitless, Cooper's proved himself to be a good actor. And anyone to question his ability or say "Hey, why in hell did they choose THAT guy?" needs to go suck an egg.
I like the concept art, or at least a lot more that I should; but it holds me back because of the Crow. Brandon Lee did something very special with the role before he died, and as a fan I feel obligated to keep saying that NO ONE should ever be the Crow again. EVER.
But it's honestly not for us to say, having that the Crow was a comic book first; and after all, the books were a little different from the successful first film. But in terms of making a remake to better relate to the comic material and start off fresh after the HORRENDOUS sequels that disgrace Brandon Lee's name, then to be honest, that's a good enough to reason to remake the film.

@Number1Wolverine Well, while I wouldn't put The Crow in my top five comic book movies of all-time list, I feel that the character is undeniably linked the late Brandon Lee. Perhaps it is because of his death during the filming of the movie that makes me feel that way. I suppose I could support a reboot if it is a superior rendition of the Lee film (easier said than done), but I would need to hear positive reviews from fairly objective critics. As for a video game, while an interesting prospect, I doubt that it would occur unless accompanied by a movie.

@Number1Wolverine Totally! I really never wanted The Crow to be remade. Who even remembers any of the other actors that played the Crow other than Brandon Lee? When I heard the rumor about Bradley Cooper I was hoping it was just a rumor. But now...all hell has broken loose!
