Bradley Cooper in talks to star in The Crow remake
The original 1993 movie The Crow starred Brandon Lee as Eric Draven, a rock star who is murdered along with his girlfriend, the night before their wedding. One year later, a mysterious crow resurrects Draven to seek vengeance on those responsible for his death.
The project seems to be a priority for Relativity Media, having just locked in director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo last week. However, Relativity Media representatives would not comment on the news, although insiders indicate he wants to take on the role.
Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most, Ryan Kavanaugh, Enrique López Lavigne, and Belén Atienza will produce The Crow. A new writer is also being sought to develop the remake.
The producers hope to get production started on The Crow remake by this fall.
The Crow is in development and stars Luke Evans. The film is directed by F. Javier GutiƩrrez.

While Cooper would seem like a good fit for the role of Eric Draven, I don't think there's enough to warrant a remake other than the desire to jump on the remake movie bandwagon. I mean, this was Brandon Lee's tragic end to his last, and arguably greatest movie/performance. There's no need to stomp on his good name (and a good movie) with a modernized remake. Leave well enough alone.
Then again, despite the fact that I own the film, I bought it at a time when I didn't really remember the movie or know much about the character. I'm not a huge Crow fan, and seeing how I haven't touched the movie in years, there's not much replay value in it either. Least not for me.

The only person I could see taking over this role who could come close to Brandon Lees great performance was Heath Ledger, God rest his soul. Other than that I dont think anybody can do the role right

If they do a remake, they only way I'd see it is if Taylor Kitsch was in the part of Eric Draven. He's perfect. He played Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Somebody did a fan poster or something awhile back with him in the crow make-up and he looked brilliant.

NO, NO, NO...I don't even like the idea of a remake, reboot, reinterpretation whatever the f*ck you wanna call it. The film has only been out for about 16 years and its already being tampered with. What a shame.

Brandon had a strong presence on the screen, so it will be difficult to replace him.

the crow should NOT be remade...it is Brandon's movie...it would be a great injustice to him to remake this movie. hollywood needs to stop remaking classics and they should start using the motto.."if it ain't broke don't fix it."

No one is discrediting Bradley's acting ability... the question is... can he bring the maniacal, tragedy filled... Vengeance seeking ability Brandon brought to the original

No need for a remake Lee's version is untouchable as far as Bradley cooper i think he does not fit the role. He is a great actor but I would certainly have problems seeing him in the role of Eric Draven...

I don't really think that it suits him to be The Crow.

I'm not so sure on why they want to remake the Crow; I mean, Brandon Lee was perfect for the role!!!!! :D
But oh wait, I forgot; it got two crappy sequels that most fans deny that ever existed. Sad fact is that both of them are in the $5 bin at Walmart. :P So going just by the sequel stuff, yeah, I think a reboot is kind of called for, even though Lee's performance as the Crow was just as iconic as Heath Ledger's Joker; that enough is fact.
But as the media would have it, a different time always calls for a different version. That said, Bradley Cooper is being rumored for the role for the possible reboot; I say F*CK YES! The guy's got acting chops if you haven't seen his new movie Limitless. He doesn't look like the typical guy for Crow, but that's were the serious, gritty acting comes in: if he takes the role seriously, and adapts himself into a good script and studies up on his Crow comic material, he just needs to grow out his hair and apply the classic freaky ass clown makeup.
I approve of this choice even though I think he would have made an awesome Flash.

honestly... I think the time has come for them to make a new crow... and its not a remake its a reinvention, if it was a remake it would be the same exact film as before...

my picks are Joseph Gordan-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Tom Welling( just keep a open mind)... ill laugh my ass off if they cast 50cent as Eric and turn the tragic to vengence from rock to rap................

im thinking NO the only way i would settle is if Jared Palecki played the character just cause he has a darknest to him that could work or Joseph Gordan Levitt if Heath Ledger " god rest his soul" was still alive he would have been my first choice right out the door

I dont mind a remake for this film. Becouse the whole movie has many diffrent possiabilites to change the movie alot. The charatcer is basicly one angle. Back from the dead, with mystic powers connect to a Crow, out for revenage. But why he is out for revenge, how he does it, and how the characters are.

I really think Joseph Gordan-Levitt would be a great choice to play Draven. I'm not too high on Bradley playing the role though.

sorry but the original CROW is highly overrated. it was a good movie and all (for what it was) but in reality what it was, was, an incomplete movie that was completed after the main star died and it suffered for it. was it a good movie? yes. was it an amazing one, no. as far as the remake goes....i dont care if they remake it. to me its just another chapter in the series. is this one even about the eric draven character?? or is it a completely new character? do we even know yet? so lets all calm down with the "it's a travesty" that they're making this movie, mumbo jumbo. no, remaking lethal weapon and the karate kid are travestys. this is just another chapter in a series that has long since moved on from the original. sorry kids.

@thebd Yes, those were sequels, but with a new actor as the Crow in each new installment they felt like early remakes. And I when I say untouchable what I really mean is no otehr movie with The Crow in each could top Brandon Lee as the Crow.

@stabalice83 good point, Cooper would be too pretty, i mean Brandon Lee was such an ugly f*ck, he had the real grit appeal to him...............
@SpaceCowboy those were sequels not remakes, unless i'm mistaken but I don't think i am, plus there was a tv show in there somewhere if i'm not mistaken.
and nothing is untouchable anymore, everything is getting remakes, we can't stop it, we might as well accept it and be happy that a respectable actor like Cooper might get the role over some sh*tty lil sh*t like Shia Lebouf or w/e.

correction on the correction, the movie was made in 1993 and released on video in 1994. Brandon Lee died March 31st 1993. And this is a terrible idea, The Crow is my all time favorite movie and I dont believe they should remake it and I like Cooper but if they insist on doing the remake get less of a pretty boy the story needs grit.
