@phatalphd...JGL range as an actor is far more superior then these two choices put together, any role hes played has been done superbly, even back to his comedic time on 3rd Rock from The Sun, and his role in the movie Hesher shouldve made him a shoe in for me for Eric Draven.

its been so long since i saw this movie and really. i 4got wat the story was about, after reading it. u have no idea how big and perfect this movie could be if done right.
It really needs to b done in "R" tho. RATED-R not pg13,. and not that R that doesnt show sh*t. either. Im talking,... this story needs to b dark. and by that i dont mean dark like underworld, just a darker story. not like spiderman where the old man dies and peter becomes a hero. psh. Theres needs to b alot of feeling into this, whoever gets the role has a big job on his hands. even if its a she. maybe it can b a she who gets killed and later we see the he.. or sumthing.

I dunno why people hate Channing so much, hes not really a bad actor, he just gets sh*tty roles, alot of actors get crappy roles these days, cant blame them for having a sh*tty film. And dont blame him for gi joe, that film was loaded w stars and yet it still failed in alot of ways, why? because summers or watever his name is, made it that way. .As for the rest of his films, well they been chick flicks or drama, alot of other stars make those kinda movies too, ya know? even Wahlberg has had alot of C+ FILMS.
The point is. and @swak1774 said it best! A movie like The crow" is not really meant for a lead actor, the crow is pretty much an icon already. Kinda like Heath Ledger was to joker, and bale to batman, these guys were not as known as they r now, So getting 1 of those unknown stars will bring "the crow" to life!, but by doing that, 3 things have to b perfect.. the script, direction, and the actor. Even if they got a top star, it doesnt mean he can make a sh*tty story seem masterpiece., it takes more than 1 to tangle.
Now im not familiar w this film, even tho i know who he is, but if they plan on this remake, i think its best to get a young star, and making at least 2 or 3 films w this guy.
@Number1Wolverine has a good idea too!, by making it a female crow, it can go any way as long as they get it right the 1st time, i dont want a reboot in 5yrs, nor do i want them to keep replacing the lead guy who starts the film.

I know i'm one of the few people who don't mind seeing a Wahlberg and Tatum flim, but no to both of them for The Crow. And i vote for a female Crow, it would give us something new plus it would allow them to escape Lee's Crow.
Would you like to see a female Crow? sound off.

@ supermanvenom I agree with you. They should leave it alone. But they're determined not to. And I refuse to see Wahlberg or Tatum in the role. After see Momoa's interview I kind of saw it with him. If anything, they should just find some unknown actor and give him the opportunity to break out in this role.

Idk why, but when I hear Channing Tatum as the Crow, I could see him doing "The Crow musical" No offense to either of these actors, but it needs to go to a extremely emotional actor. I never thought Brandon Lee was a great actor (Rapid Fire was like a bad Steven Segal flick), but when he starred in the 1st Crow, he shined & anyone can say that role was made for him. A role like this can truly show was an actor is capable of. If done wrong, it will be lined up with that joke of a Crow with Edward Furlong.

I don't know why they're leaking names suggestions, just to get the viewers opinions. The studio should go with who they feel is right for the role, and own up to their decision if the movie fails. Now Mark Whalbarg is not a trained actor, so certain roles have to be tailor made to fit his limited acting skills, and Channing is actually a very good actor, whose in need of that one role, that will define him and show everyone what he's capable of. Mark unfortunately doesn't have the emotional range to play this character. He's great at playing the angry thug ( he use to be an angry thug, so no stretch there) and depending on the role, he can play someone vulnerable-not convincingly however. As far as the lead actor being Asian, that's irrelevant. If the lead actor can act, then no one will make much nose about that, Also, if your old enough to remember the late 70's early 80's show Kung fu, a show created for Bruce Lee but ended up being played by David Carradine who was white, but played that part so well, he had many convinced he was Asian.

tatum is a good actor but good for the crow. you need an asian actor to play this ironic character. so i pick donnie.

neither of these guys fit the role. tatum couldnt act his way out of a 3rd grade play and wahlberg just doesn't fit. his 'whisper talk' acting wouldn't work here. TWO TERRIBLE CHOICES.
