The Crow Eyeing Mark Wahlberg

Is Mark Wahlberg the next Crow?
Is Mark Wahlberg the next Crow?
Mark Wahlberg has officially been offered the lead role in a remake of Alex Proyas's seminal 1994 comic book adaptation The Crow. This news comes from Bloody Disgusting, who suspect that Wahlberg will most likely decline the offer.

Relativity Media is behind this remake, which is said to take place in Detroit. The original starred Brandon Lee, who was accidentally killed during filming after being shot in the chest with a firing blank. The story revolves around a rock musician named Eric Draven who is brought back from the dead to avenge his own murder. The franchise has spawned three sequels and a TV series.

Rock legend and actor Nick Cave is said to be rewriting the script for this new The Crow remake, with Blade's Stephen Norrington set to direct.

The Crow is in development . The film is directed by F. Javier GutiƩrrez.

if heath ledger was still alive, id bet hed make a great crow, atleast for the face thingy, he would. but he would make his character -crow sumwat diff than joker, less laughable, and more evilish.

I agree w/Pjwolsker! The first actor to I thought of to play the next Crow is Taylor Kitsch! He has the right look & the right age

Whoa... thats a pretty good idea @Daniel_Bristol. I mean, people compare him to Heath in terms of character and his smile. Hell, I can see him playing the Crow. It's suits him far better than those ridiculous Riddler rumors. With a decent script, and the right director (I vote for James McTiegue (V for Vendetta)), they can definitely do a REBOOT, not a remake. My two cents.

Taylor Kitsch as The Crow.. he has the long hair like in the original and he's fit. he could totally do it

Some moments in film will have an amazing tone, character, and passion, it can never be copied, duplicated or improved, it as an original is untapped and therefore becomes unable to mimic, upon doing so you fail to recapture the essence of moments and spirit that lies within it, this should not be done, not only because it is disrespectful to the memory of Brandon Lee R.I.P. but by many who are fans this is irrational, i voted no years ago on it and boycotted it and will do so again, Some films are not meant to be remade or improved upon, they do not need sequels or continuations because they manage to capture the story and delivered in one shot heard around the world where most fail and need several films to get their message across, leave this be,

EVERY ACTOR SHOULD TURN DOWN THIS REMAKE ROLE! Hollywood should some FU*KING RESPECT for Linda andthe Lee family AND DON'T MAKE IT! if they do may the curse of the ghostly demons that followed both Bruce & Brandon follow whoever funds and makes and is involved with it!

the movie and soundtrack can never be topped even with a BILLION DOLLAR BUDGET and to even try is just plain disrespectful, dumb and ignorance on the part of the person thinking up this remake idea!

Mark Wahlberg as the Crow?...Not liking it. They gotta have someone younger and who would really get a chance to shine. Like Josh Peck. I think it would b a little rough, but I think he could do it.

as much as i would hate to say this but i think johnny depp would fit this role... plus it helps that he can bring a character to life with his weird voice.. and it would help if he made horror movies more offen, than disney crap.

Wahlberg is all wrong for this role. Give it to someone younger.

  26. The Real Lex Luthor

Brandon Lee was my favorite action actor after Rapid Fire, and man was I looking forward to "The Crow" then the news broke that he died on the set, and it broke my heart, and it's sad to see such a great talent like him killed in such a terribly tragic accident.

I wish the remake well but Mark Wahlberg? I don't think that's a good idea for this movie.

The original Crow, is by far my favorite movie of all time, I was a kid when I went to see it in theaters and till this day its still an awesome movie to watch, leave this film alone, there is no way they will ever be able to capture the spirit, tone, heart and message The Crow had, its tragic what happened to brandon and he didnt get to go on and become a bigger star after the film, but in a way he still did from just that one perfomance...R.I.P Brandon Lee...no matter how many sequels or re-boots could be made, his film was the true Crow...
