In a shocking turn of events, Perry Moore, producer behind The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, was found dead on the floor of his apartment bathroom Thursday morning. A cause of death hasn't been confirmed at this time, but it is being reported that the 39 year-old passed away from an apparent Oxycontin overdose.

Hunter Hill, Perry Moore's live-in partner and co-director on their Sissy Spacek drama Lake City, found the body at 9:30 a.m. inside their shared W. Houston St. home. The news came as a surprise to everyone in the family.

Bill Hill, father of Perry Moore, spoke out on the incident yesterday, saying, "We're in shock. I spoke to my son the night before. He was in a great, great mood. No one was expecting this. We're so sad. He's been able to reach out and touch a lot of people."

Perry Moore was announced dead shortly after responders arrived at the scene. The producer leaves behind a legacy that includes his directorial debut Lake City, about a mother and son who reunite under shady circumstances after years apart, and The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy, which has grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide and is the sixteenth highest-grossing film franchise of all time. Moore also wrote the novel 'Hero' in 2007, which chronicled the adventures of the first gay teenage superhero. His last film was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader, which opened late last year.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was released December 9th, 2005 and stars Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Tilda Swinton, James McAvoy, Jim Broadbent, Kiran Shah. The film is directed by Andrew Adamson.

Lake City was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Sissy Spacek, Troy Garity, Rebecca Romijn, Dave Matthews, Drea de Matteo, Colin Ford, Keith Carradine, Barry Corbin. The film is directed by Hunter Hill, Perry Moore.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader was released December 10th, 2010 and stars Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Will Poulter, Bill Nighy, Gary Sweet, Arthur Angel, Tony Nixon. The film is directed by Michael Apted.

@Mutant - I believe we as audience members should concern ourselves only with the work the artists put out for us - for that is the only thing we have the right to view and after we pay and watch a film or a DVD we are entitled to our opinions solely on that piece of work... no one can judge the life choices the artist makes - it's like me asking you "why do you eat your eggs with Ketchup and not mayo" the question was that absurd.

Anyway I agree it's not a good example for future artists becuz not all artisits do drugs - but I respect your point it reflects quite poorly on the industry

You know, a lot of people have so many problems in life. Narnia seemed to be doing good, and I'm sure he was making money hand over fist. I just can't understand why these people throw it all away. I think it's time to take Oxycontin off the market.

Abhijit Kundu quite a number of actors or anyone else in the industry seem to be on drugs. Yes it's a shame that he died, my point is quite a number of actors seem to be taking drugs. That's mass- suicide.
How many actors died last year due to drugs or drinking. Next thing we know Charley Sheen may be dead. I respect them but I don't like it when they are wasting their talent.
Just look at his show, he now looks sick.

As of Perry Moore he will be missed and I bet his family is greaving under his own stupidity. That's right you heard me.

I can never understand why someone would take drugs. I understand drinking, playing video games or watching films to get a dose of fantasy, but drugs

Sorry to hear about this, that's the one thing I avoided

Well that sucks. I don't really like the Narnia movies, but 39 is WAY too young to die.
