The Brave One Is No. 1 at the Box Office
The Brave One made Warner Bros. happy by being the No. 1 movie with a three day take of $14 million. Holding strong at No. 2 was Lionsgate's Christian Bale/Russell Crowe western, 3:10 to Yuma. That film brought in another $9.2 million for a total take of $28.6 million thus far.
The should have been released but was reshot in many ways Mr. Woodcock gave New Line a third place finish. The film grossed $9.1 million. Freestyle Releasing came in at No. 4 with $5.4 for Dragon Wars (D-War).
Superbad continued to provide Sony Pictures with a healthy revenue stream as it took in another $5.2 million in the No. 5 spot. This brings its total haul to $111 million. MGM and The Weinstein Company got one step closer to topping the all time gross for the Halloween franchise. The 2007 incarnation placed No. 6 and brought in another $5 million last weekend. It's current box office tally is now $51 million. The highest grossing film in the franchise is Halloween: H20 with $55 million.
Universal Studios can continue to keep the lights in with the No. 7 film The Bourne Ultimatum. It grossed another $4.2 million. The third film in the Bourne franchise has currently grossed over $216 million. The comedy Balls of Fury from Rogue Pictures hit another $3.3 million for a third week tally of $28.8 million. It was No. 8. New Line saw Rush Hour 3 take in another $3.3 million for a total haul of $133 million and a Ninth place finish.
Lastly, in the No. 10 spot was Mr. Bean's Holiday. It grossed $2.6 million dollars for a 4 week gross of $28 million.
The Brave One was released September 14th, 2007 and stars Jodie Foster, Terrence Howard, Nicky Katt, Naveen Andrews, Mary Steenburgen, Ene Oloja, Luis Da Silva Jr., Blaze Foster. The film is directed by Neil Jordan.
