Gwyneth Paltrow will not star as Pepper Potts in The Avengers
"I think it's a for sure. I think they're starting shooting soon and they probably would have asked me by now."
While we have known for some time that Robert Downey Jr. would reprise his Tony Stark role from Iron Man and Iron Man 2, it wasn't known if Gwyneth Paltrow would appear as Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts.
Of course, things could change before The Avengers starts shooting and we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further updates on The Avengers as soon as we have more information.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

So this article should have been titled, 'The Avengers Might Not Star Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts', because that's what I get from it, not that she defiantly won't be in it. She says, "I think it's a for sure." and "they probably would have asked me by now.", but she doesn't say I'm not going to be in it. Also, Movieweb states in this article that 'things could change' and they of course did. :)
