The Skrulls will team up with Loki in The Avengers
The involvement of The Skrulls has been rumored for some time now, with one report dating back to December 2010, and another report from March which alleged The Skrulls would team up with Loki. Those reports were never confirmed by Marvel.
The Skrulls, which first appeared in the Marvel comic books in 1961, are a shape-shifting race of aliens who can turn into any living creature or inanimate object. It isn't known how they become involved with Loki in The Avengers story line as of yet, but their presence in the movie would explain the motion-capture actors and the bizarre firearms.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Okay I have faith in Joss but these creatures, kanda over kill isn't it. I would have an arch, the first three on one bad guy which seems to get away each time.
Hell every supervillian seems to escape, but in the films no, it's die, die, die.

I think it's Thanos... or at least it should be! Here's why... 1) They already displayed his weapon, the Infinity Gauntlet, in the Thor movie (did you see it?), 2) It makes more sense for Loki to team up with Thanos than the Skrulls, 3) It's way too early for them to introduce the Skrulls as the main villain, and 4) he's a BADASS

jeez stop telling up who is going to fight in the avengers !!!!!! i am starting to think that these movies photos that they are releasing must be a sign that the movie may not be that hot so to keep the interest they have to put out early photos.

@Thomas-Locke Loki isn't a Skrull. And he didn't shape shift. He was using hypnotic suggestion. So in a sense, he possed the guy.

@eli-rome agree... i liked the idea of the hulk being controlled by loki and then joining the avengers at the end... they might still have that story, but i doubt... this sounds waay to fantastical... might be entertaining, but just too out there.... some stories and characters in the comic universe should just stay put on the pages of paper.
