@ROFLitschristian -- Overall, yeah. I just didn't like it much because I didn't enjoy it much, ha. The dialogue was sometimes cheesy on 'Avatar', not to mention the horrible, nearly unbelievable villain.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx LMAO, whoops. I was still on the Avatar discussion. XD So Star Trek was okay?

@ROFLitschristian -- No, I don't mean it like that. It was okay-not my kind of movie, but over-rated. The cinematography, costumes, sound effects, and make-up were great. The acting was good, the action scenes were decent, and they added a nice sense of humor. If I had to rate it based on everything, I'd probably give it a 6.0-7.0 -- It's just that I didn't "enjoy" it much, I wasn't compelled to watch it and I wasn't entertained in the process. Albeit, I did really like the beginning. I say it is over-rated because of the feedback make it look outstanding, and while everything was executed nicely, it's not a film I enjoyed watching and I found the melodrama defrauding. (Check IMDb.com, along with Rottentomatoes.com and Yahoo movies).

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx As for Avatar, if you took away all the pretty scenery and the outstanding blue giants, how much money would it have really made? Less then $800,000,000 considering how bland it was.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Yeah. I've seen bits and pieces of Gran Torino and I was bored to death. But don't tell me Star Trek was bad! I have such high hopes for that movie! I'll be crushed if it's bad.

@ROFLitschristian -- Holy crap! You're nearly spot on! I saw half of 'The Hangover', and I kinda liked it. But I absolutely abhor 'Paranormal Activity', and 'Avatar' was OKAY, nothing more, nothing less. I personally feel the most over-rated movie of all-time would have to be 'The Shawshank Redemption' . It's a really good movie, but when people hail it as "the greatest movie of all-time", and the only film they actually love-it's a complete over-statement. I think a lot of other films are over-rated, even if it's a tad bit over-rated. 'Collateral' would be an example. Along with 'Hotal Rwanda', 'Star Trek' and 'Gran Torino'. I kind of really liked 'Gran Torino', but some of the ratings its' been getting is absolutely ridiculous-especially considering how bad the acting was at some points for that one kid, etc.

@ROFLitschristian -- It really is awesome to know that I'm not the only person that thinks some of these trailers and such are over-rated. What do you think is quite possibly the most over-rated movie(s)?

Well, i'm sure they'll both make a whole lot of money in the box office when they're released, and i'm sure they'll both be good movies.

@themoviefanatic: But "The Avengers" is so far certainly not the MOST anticipated film of summer 2012. "TDKR" has a good 3yrs on it already, and with Marvel we're familiar with the format, but with Nolan he likes to completely deliver a different type of Batman film with each installment.

I wouldn't say that. Both those movies will probably be really good.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS! I watched it and all I thought was, "Hmm, looks cool," while everyone else was splooging over it (sorry if that's a gross image :P). It was an okay trailer.

I would have loved to see TDKR and The Avengers to be released the same weekend as each other...that would be the ultimate comic-book movie showdown! But I'm sure fans have been waiting longer for an all star superhero movie like Avengers (which has never been down before) than the finale of a Batman trilogy which happens to be the 7th Batman movie. In the end, these films are equally as anticipated for me and i can't wait to see them compete with eachother!

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: I'm not sure just yet. I am a huge Bat-fan (Batman being my favorite comic hero) and am rarely, truly impressed with a Marvel movie, but for some reason, I have a feeling the Avengers might win out on this one. For one, Joss Whedon is directing, and he is far from being a crappy director, or writer for that matter, which is a trait both Nolan and Whedon share as filmmakers. But like I said, The Avengers is something fresh, and the genius of Marvel's promotion of this film is undeniable. But this is going to be very interesting to see, because I think it's going to be two of the best comic/action films we've ever seen going head-to-head, and I can't wait to see it.

@newtron -- Good point, and while I do respect it, I still have my firm opinion on the subject. It may be a showdown, but I personally feel the winner is quite obvious, how about you?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: I don't know. Although I think the trailer for TDKR will attract major attention and hits, I'm not so sure it it'll beat out The Avengers trailer record. I say this because there have been two installments of Nolan's Batman universe, but The Avengers is something that has never been seen before. This is my opinion, of course. We'll just have to see. But clearly, next year is a major battle between DC and Marvel. Batman vs. The Avengers LOL
