Will The Avengers be shot in 3D?
This will be the first time Marvel Studios has actually shot a film in the popular 3D format. Whedon and the studio have hinted for some time that The Avengers would be presented in 3D. Showbiz 411 is reporting that efforts to actually shoot the film instead of converting it are a "done deal".
The 3D news hasn't been confirmed by Marvel Studios as of yet, and we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further news on The Avengers as soon as we have more information.
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

im not saying 3D sucks, but i mean, not every movie has to b shot in 3d, but i do however see most of the movies made in 3d sooner or later like rambo or the birds, lol and movies like that just dont cutt it. and also. 3d is sort of meant for 1 or 2 people at home. but what will happen when u have a group of friends? and u only have like 2 or 3 pairs of glasses? i just hope they keep making 2d and 3d, not switch it from 2d and make em all 3d. like @Charles DeMar pointed out. what about those who wear glasses? or those who r blind from 1 eye? i mean, nobody's perfect. so either way, 2D is perfect for me.

word, a big problem of mine with the old blue/red bitches was they kept falling off of my face (given that they were made of 5 cent paper) so i would have to set them between my regular glasses and my eyeballs which was terribly uncomfortable. i like how the new glasses are pretty sturdy and fit over regular glasses.

@Err Oh I remember remember when Jaws 3D came out. I don't remember a lot about how bad the 3D was since I was only a kid. I do remember getting scared and taking the glasses off. I do agree that 3D has come a long way.

hey if you guys think the current 3D is sh*t, you should have seen Jaws 3D with the old school blue/red glasses. that sh*t was painful, at least the current 3D platform looks awesome, though having said all that i am not a fan either but mostly due to the retarded skyrocketed prices.
why can't i save my glasses and bring em in for another movie and save 3$???
it's a f*cking scam, that's why.

@superman81 don't be an *sshole, Fallen was just pointing out (because you we're really pissed about it) that it's not a real poster, it's just a mockup poster that Movieweb and other sites put there to make the article more appealing, not to try to trick you into thinking its real.
@Cartman I don't think the 3D on this movie will be intended for the characters to throw things at your face, you're not in the movie, they'll throw the things at each other :D
I'm not a fan of 3D so I'll watch this in 2D most likely.

-The glasses. I wear glasses and so if I watch a 3D movie I have to wear 2 sets of glasses. This is very uncomfortable. Also watching a movie through 2 sets of lens, I have to remain completely still or I don't get the effect. Oh and not to mention that when there is fast action scenes it looks like a blurry mess and causes me headaches. I never have that problem with 2D and Blu-Ray.
I can keep going but that is enough reason why I will not support 3D. Like I said before I don't care if they make 3D or not cause the solution is watching the 2D version. I believe it is a fad until they can get away from using glasses. But hey, if you enjoy 3D then hap at it. Good for you. In a perfect world I wish I could.

@Cartman Watching a movie in 3D is obviously better? I watched Avatar in 3D and it look really good, but the whole time I was watching it I was thinking this just looks like I'm watching a Blu-Ray on the big screen. I can't speak for everyone else but mark my words, I will not watch Avenger in 3D. I will only watch movies in 2D because they are better for me to watch. How you might ask? Well I'll explain:

Lets see: Last I heard that 3D isn't a fad and it's staying for quite a while. I was watching a technology show the other day and the future of entertainment. I learned from watching this half hour show that 3D is here to stay even if we like it or not.
As the host said 'it the future of cinema' and 2D films will be the thing of the past. You want to complain now, wait until most films are in 3D.

I f*cking have no idea wat ppl are gonna lose by wearing a glass?? 3D effect is good and watching a movie in 3D is obviously better!! Iron-mans laser coming out of the screen to your face?? and hulk throwing a tank to ur face is wayyyyy awesome than things happening within the screen,.. The same Avengers movie is released in 3D and 2D and ppl who talk crap abt 3D would be the first ones to see the movie in 3D,... At least it will not be converted and look like sh*t like it did with Clash of the Titans and Last Airbender. And people we all have to understand that 3D movies do bigger business for the movie companies. If we were running those companies we would all be saying "make it in 3D" because they are huge. Once this trend dies down they will stop making them. Thats how a rend works.

The 3D doesn't determine whether or not the movie will be good, it's just that everyone saw how well Avatar did, so now everyone is trying to capitalize on the format. The real problem is that there are an alarmingly increasing number of bad movies being made.

I've seen more bad 3D movies then good so I'm done with them. They can make as many 3D movies as they want, it won't change my mind. Just watch it in 2D like me. No reason to get all pissed unless they stop making 2D all together and make them in 3D only. I don't see that happening during my lifetime.
