As we showed you close-ups yesterday of Chris Evans in full costume as Captain America on the downtown Cleveland set of The Avengers, no one had a clear understanding of what he was shooting. Now, new photos and video have emerged that clue us into what The Avengers are possibly fighting in the film. Debate below on what your theories about the 'device' and the motion capture suit below could represent.
Captain America Fight On Set
Marvel's The Avengers was released May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

@lawrence-mccullah i dont think it will... of course numbers dont tell the story... it could, but what is going to be the better picture is the question to ask. Batman has a lot going for it... the last of the trilogy... expectations are high so the opening week will be big due to the high praise for the last one... and it is a built up franchise as well.
Avengers however... the only film that has really done well of the avengers team has been iron man. I dont think the other characters are really marketable from the standpoint that most of the other films have been easily forgotten. I think its saving grace are a lot of well known actors... downey jr, sam jackson, jeremy renner, johansson. I think it was smart for marvel to do intro movies that lead into this film, but from what i have seen, it really looks like a cap 2, unless chris evans is needing to film all his scenes first due to scheduling of other films.
I hope they both do well though. avengers for a sequel (plus might get DC's justice league going quicker if they see marvels success), and dark knight rises because i want it to beat the odds of superhero films, where 3 is always the unlucky number.

Kree is more in line with science while Skrulls are freaks who respects no one...steal ideas and makes war!
its the only way to go... then enter Shi-Ar, Inhumans, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova Corps, Celestials and of course least not we forget, the one the only worshipper of death, the Eternal, Thanos.

Oh no. They gonna put Skrulls in this movie? Damn it. Skrulls belong with the Fantastic Four, not the Avengers. The only time the Avengers actually had to fight the Skrulls was in Secret Invasion. The hell if I know why they decided to put them in here. I hope I'm wrong though, they shoulda just stuck with Loki, and maybe the Masters of Evil. THAT would be awesome!

I know a lot of you are passing judgment on the suits and what not but honestly, after the film is finished and all the color correction and such is complete it will look completely different.

From what I read originally, it is going to be the Kree in the first movie, setting up an all out invasion of the Skurll in the second Avengers. Although I read that well over a year ago, could be completely false and bogus. Looking good though!
