The Arquettes Eyeing New Scream Trilogy?

Entertainment Weekly has learned that Scream franchise writer-director Kevin Williamson has approached Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette about reprising their roles in a new Scream trilogy.

Williamson is developing more films that will bring back many of the characters from the original movies, which might start production this fall.

No word on whether Neve Campbell's character will return.

    Wow this is a load of sh*t, not looking forward to this although the opening to Scream 4 is pretty interesting though.
    But a new installment sucks, i reckon the 4th installment will be a flop and 5 and 6 will just get cancelled, because lets face it Scream rocked and well Scream 2 & 3 blew hard.

    And one question....Where's Wes Craven?

    utter crap. After the first the sequels were jus money making cash ins. An i dont think the Arquettes are very busy latley as we probly won't be seeing eight legged freaks 2 or another season of the show no 1 watched Dirt.

    im hyped!!! yes the first one was the best but they hit it again in 3 i think where her half brother turns out to be the one behind everything (billy's mom was in the 2nd btw) and like i said the 3rd did have shock value with her brother being the mastermind behind everything because there mom would'nt have anything to do with him.... I dont agree with having one of the old cast turn out to be the killer that was everybody's wet dream for some reason having Neve go crazy and have her be the killer but to me that does not make any sense, i say have a new killer someone from the town that was totally obssesed with the killings and the killers and for some reason he/she/they (w/e they decide to do) will feel like its there job to kill neve and all the other survivor's

    As much as I want another movie we all know they are just gonna screw up the whole thing... And making it a supernatural movie would be stupid considering the first three had nothing to do with supernatural.. If there gonna do this they'll probably have to make one of the orginal cast members become the killer l, it'll be like they went crazy or something as long as david is in I'm in

    problem is, it'll never live up to the greatness that was the first movie. three reasons the first one was so good (and couldn't be duplicated in the second two or any other horror movie): (1) the whole 2-killer storyline (awesome idea), (2) killers were the best friends and had good/funny motives, (3) the very entertaining/creative mocking of horror movies within the horror movie ("I'll be right back!").
    The second and third movie introduced people as if just to make them the killer (seriously - the mom in the third movie?!?!). there was no attachment (shock value) to the killers like there was in the first one. i can't imagine them matching the first one. they couldn't do it with the other two movies, don't see them doing it in this trilogy either.

    This ironic horror franchise has been exhausted...is anyone clamoring for another snarky spooker?

    Neve Campbell...this gorgeous woman should stage a comeback however...Wild Things 4 :) or take a critically acclaimed role in an independant movie...to takeover the roles that Overatted Cameron Diaz keeps getting somehow...is it me or is Diaz turning into a jack 'o lantern Pez candy dispenser?
