The Story
Like most teenagers his age, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together he uncovers a secret that his father held... a secret that will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man. This is the first in a series of movies that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story. On July 3rd, 2012, the untold story begins.

Ever since Peter's parents disappeared 13 years ago, he has struggled to find his purpose in life. Now, on the brink of unlocking the mystery about what happened to them, he must face the ultimate challenge - one that has been created within the laboratories of Oscorp.
Gwen Stacy
Smart, charismatic and rebellious, Gwen is the chief intern at Oscorp, a position she takes very seriously. But her life takes a complicated turn as she watches both her boyfriend, Peter, and her mentor, Dr. Connors, undergo radical transformations.
Captain Stacy
An esteemed police officer for over twenty years, Captain Stacy is the public face of the NYPD who leads the department's investigation into Spider-Man's vigilantism. The only thing Captain Stacy vows to protect more than the city is his family - and particularly his only daughter, Gwen.
Dr. Curt Connors
One of the leading scientific minds, Dr. Connors attempts to engineer a revolutionary regeneration serum to help re-grow limbs and human tissue. His motivations are unclear as to why he elects to be the first human test subject - but what becomes evident is that something goes horribly wrong.
The Amazing Spider-Man was released July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Campbell Scott. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

Hmm. Connors working at OsCorp and Gwen as an OsCorp intern and Connors' protege? Hmm. That's all I'm saying. Don't want to make any judgment call yet even though they are taking liberties like that. It could play out well. I'm more interested as to how the Parker parents story goes down, and Gwen's story arc, and will they stick true to both.

PEOPLE they are tying SPIDERMAN into the AVENGERS. Parker's parents were shield agents. At the end of this movie they will probally have Tony Stark coming to parker and being like yo nigga you want a job. It makes alot of sense and leaves room for the sequels i have some faith in this i Personaly didnt like toby maguire as spiderman and there wasnt enough Gwenn she is an awesome character

I really think this movie is going to be good and be the rise of the planet of the apes of next years movie season. I think the new series will focus more on story than action. The previous series seem to focus more the on the action side of things. With all the hype coming I think avengers will be the movie that is disappointing. Its will be a good movie but I have a feeling its going to disappoint people. Its just to many characters fighting for screen time. Also what cool villains will they have to fight since Disney does not have the rights to their cooler villains, other studios(Fox) do.

@R-U-Foreel Their will be a sequel because if not they will lose the license, unless that deal they made last month by giving Disney the merchandising right(which is what Disney want more than anything) made it so they would have complete control of the character now. It was never put into detail what Disney had to give up.

@ChiRep-1, I wish i could share your optimism. Everything stinks from it's core with this production.
Spider-man is my favorite super hero, it doesn't come from a place of just being loyal to the first series who was great (even if the 3rd one didn't lived the hype), it's the rush that came with this project. the 4 years of waiting was for Spider-man 4, not a reboot. The road from there to the reboot was very short.
I also can't relate to Garfield as Spider-man, and Marc Webb only did one film that was completely a different genre, he doesn't seem the right choice for this movie.
But sure, it could go on a different path and be better...time will tell.

its very hard for me to swallow this whole reboot.
The fact that i got used to the cast from 1 2 and 3. and now they want to erase that from ur mind and replace all of those things and people with sumthing new. Im sure i'll get use to it and pretend like i never saw the last3. That new spiderman actor does not fit that role, because i got use to the last guy, we'll have to wait and c how this goes.
