First of all, I'm not here to bash this movie. It's a little misguiding to state that Emma is "soaked" in this picture. Personally I liked the original trilogy, I was eight when it came out and I first saw it, after that I basically fell in love with the series and the characters, yes I'm a but different for not disliking the film, but I also must admit that I never read the comic books so it's not like I'd know what's wrong with the trilogy as far as pacing goes. I do in someways agree, that it was time for a reboot of some sort. The direction the last film was headed didn't feel quite right, and if Raimi didn't feel he could continue on to a fourth film and tried anyway, it may have been a disaster. I have nothing against this film...I refuse to dislike it until I see it for myself six months from now. I do disagree with the advertising for this film, if you ask me I think a second trailer is due describing more of the story and showing the fans\audience the official final draft of The Lizard. Even if we didn't get a trailer an actual competed picture of The Lizard and Spider-Man fighting would be nice, but all they're doing here is recycling old photos and pretending they're new. Unlike a lot of my friends I have faith in this movie...a lot of it. I believe this movie can do justice and get deeper into the story than Raimi's trilogy did. I can't wait to see the movie when it comes out, but until then, they need to give us SOMETHING new. lol

@narrator Agreed. And good points on the Director of Cinematography. Too often we forget that there are others that go into the making of the movies besides the high-profiled ranks.

@ejk1 Spider-Man 4 points which I have argued time and time again, that is too funny buddy. Yes and Raimi's lack of respect for the story and characters of the comic, and moreover his unwillingness to respect them (basically saying no to changing the 4th-time rewritten script, spending the studio's money left and right hiring more and more writers to do so, and not changing The Vuturess) is what led him and the studio behind closed doors for that one last negotiations meeting where they fired him. He says he walked, but we all know the truth. He didn't want to respect the characters anymore (obvious after Spider-Man 3), and made up his own stories for the 4th film. The studio wouldn't have it. All this from the self-proclaimed 'biggest Spidey fan'. Yeah, right. Now we are getting what Spider-Man 4's original treatment was with the reboot - The Lizard, Gwen Stacy, and hopefully a better movie than Raimi's trilogy combined. Thank God for James Vanderbilt. Good points, E.

  5. The Narrator: The Better Man

@comicbookfan, lol. You summed it up very well for me my friend. I think those two are decent actors as well, in their own mold.

Like you said, something about Raimi's Spidey films... Personally, I often blame a portion of the fault on cinematographers. People often undermine the importance of how to properly light someone's face or capture an emotion on camera. While it's not as easy to fault the cinematographer than it is to fault the actor, writer and even director (and it is mostly the previously mentioned' fault), the director of photography also is tasked with capturing the mood and tone of the film, alongside the director.

What we see captured on screen, and how it's captured is very important, and that was also one of the downer points in the Raimi trilogy, as there were a couple fantastic shots, but they were few and far between in the series, especially in the first and last films.

    @SenTTox sounds like someone's a ginger chaser :P

@tycamgamer I wouldn't go so far as to say TDKR can't fail. Nothing is a certainty. To be honest, I didn't love the trailer, but I have a feeling Nolan left out the juicy stuff. Still, as close to a sure thing as TDKR is, there is the slight chance of failure. Very slight.

I have nothing against the first two Spider-Man films; #2 is one of my all-time faves. #3, on the other hand,is where the wheels came off. Too predictable, too shallow, and too inconsistent with source material. And again, a reboot was necessary. Why? Because Raimi was going to give us the Vultress! Anne Hathaway as Felicia Hardy, but not as Black Cat, but rather the made for film villainness the Vultress!! Anyone of you crybitches complaining about the reboot would have screamed murder over Vultress, and you know it. That's why, whenever I have brought this up, none of you, I repeat, NONE OF YOU, have ever come forward to defend the idea of that character. So once and for all, crybitches, shut up, get over yourselves, and try supporting the characters that you supposedly love. Or at least shut up until the movie comes out and we see if it is good or bad. Either way, the key is to shut up.

@narrator I got ya. That trilogy was packed with over-the-top cheesiness, and if it took you out of the movie (and prob the bad acting by both Maguire and Dunst), then it most likely didn't give off any sense of emotion for many people. I mean, I saw past the actors only because I care a lot for those characters and that story, but in all regards, I hear what you're saying, and if I wasn't a die-hard Spidey fanboy and Dunst-luster, I'd feel the same.

Now, I've loved Dunst's roles since her early days, but I gotta say the Raimi trilogy was the sore spot of her career. Sure, it did wonders for her success, but not for her acting cred. I felt when she came back with "All Good Things," it was a return to form with her. Both Dunst and Maguire are decent actors in my opinion, but in those movies they just plain sucked. I liked Maguire in Pleasantville and Brothers, and Dunst in pretty much everything else she's done, so I don't know, something about Raimi's trilogy I guess.

  9. The Narrator: The Better Man

Actually @comicbookfan, I didn't care one way or another for the rain scene with Dunst. It felt... awkward for me, rather than romantic or even feel-good. Don't know why, though. Lol. I'm just different there.

And yeah, this is totally false advertising. Rain soaked... Hah. I was getting my hopes up for nothing.

Emma Stone looks like a man. Designers are horrible in this movie, from the costumes to the hair and makeup. I don't know if their trying to make her look like an anime character or what but the hair style and rosy cheeks is god awful. As well as Andrew Garfield, look at the picture above shows it all. It looks like an abercrombie model that got stuck at a halfway house with the rest of the bums on that corner/alley he's in. Yea, this is going to be a chart topper... not.

And I think... isn't this pic one that has already been released in a magazine? If I recall right, I think it was Empire magazine.

i had much higher expectations when i read this headline, rain soaked emma stone, shes under an umbrella. dude you would be lucky to get a chick 1/4 as hot as her. how can you think a movie will be sh*t if you havent seen anything from it, not even a full trailer.

@SenTTox You literally have no taste. I've seen you commenting around movieweb within the past few weeks and i'm just sick of someone who only speaks bad about good things. One thing that bothered me the most on another post is how are all the Mission Impossible movies terrible since the 2nd? I admit that the 2nd is more of action and less of acting and story but the 3rd was Greatly made and reviewed as well as Ghost Protocol. Also how is Anne Hathaway ugly? She's pretty damn cute to me. And to top it all off, HOW THE HELL IS THE DARK KNIGHT RISES GOING TO BE DISPPOINTING? REALLY??? Oh yea cause IT CAN'T. Either get some taste or shut the f*ck up.

A lady standing in the rain with an umbrella.

If you havent got any thing good to show us dont show it.
And the Peter Parker pic is repeated from last week.
This is the WORST publicity for a major movie in recent memory.

The film may be good in the end but whoevers running the press releases are so BORING with what they release.
I repeat: If you havent got any thing good to show us dont show it.
