The Amazing Spider-Man was released July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Campbell Scott. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

@moviewiz001 how easy was it to be popular at ur school? wearing a coat and listening to an iPod made u popular? we haven't seen any footage, we have no idea about his demeanor and how he acts. plus is this post or pre spider bite, maybe he has glasses before he is bit and loses them after like in the first movies. would glasses make him "nerdy" enough?
it seems like ppl r way too quick to judge on this movie and every little thing is being called out even when it doesn't matter.

I think they are using elements from Ultimate and Amazing, meaning that I believe that Norman will kill Gwen eventually. Aside from that, all these pictures look great. Stone looks great as Gwen, although I am of the opinion that she would have made a great MJ as well.

@pjwolsker@ridgl They are actually going to make it look like Connors wears a prosthetic arm. You can tell by the way Rhys Ifans is holding his are straight out like he is. Also, the green on his hand is to probably cg in a prosthetic hand. Doing it this way eliminates the awkwardness the Raimi series suffered with Connors; in the series hit just looks like a guy with his arm in his shirt and the "arm stub" that was supposed to be there just looked too pillowish.

@bawnian-dexeus I think they'll be including personality/story arc elements from Ultimate Gwen; i.e. The death of her father and her living with Peter and May.
And No. Ultimate Gwen doesn't die persay. She's assimilated by Ultimate Carnage and "dies" but what actually happens is that Carnage absorbs her and pretty much posesses her. they eventually rid her of Carnage and she was still alive afterwards. So yeah, They may not kill off Gwen in this series either and rather explore the love triangle featured in the Ultimate Books.

I wonder what The CGI Lizard will look like. Anyways I think Emma Stone is a good choice to play Gwen Stacy, there actually getting it right from the story's perspective because as we all know in the comic books Gwen was Peter's boyfriend, way before he hooked with Mary Jane. But still the first 2 movies were great.

@SomethingMore DUDE! No offense but stip bringing up Camilla Belle and Mary Elizabeth Winstead when referencing the Gwen Stacy role. NEITHER of them look like Gwen Stacy, epescially Belle. If Bell and Winstead did have roles in this film it would be as Liz Allen and Mary Jane Watson respectively.
Also, Stone is a good choice for Gwen but just the Ultimate Gwen Stacy.
