The Amazing Spider-Man Merchandise Offers First Official Look at the Lizard
Don't hate me, hate the candy! Merchandise for The Amazing Spider-Man has been first to bring the spoilers. In November, a Pez dispenser gave away Rhys Ifans as The Lizard. Then yesterday, a set of Mega Blocks confirmed that The Lizard will be turning a S.W.A.T. team into a crew of scaly monsters looking for a fight. Now, a Mini-Quad candy dispenser in the guise of a video game controller has brought the first "official" image of The Lizard. There is also a Lizard Racer filled with candy, and a slew of Hasbro action figure photos that offer another look at Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. You can check out the latest leaked The Amazing Spider-Man merchandise below.

The Amazing Spider-Man comes to theaters July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Irrfan Khan, C. Thomas Howell. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

people have to realize this is a lizard humanoid. How the heck can it talk( assuming he can talk in movie) with a snout? I think the lizard guy looks fine.

@oxxford699 The Raimi Trilogy? You do realize that the story of Spider-Man was not done justice in those films, yes? And the story is already proving to be more accurate in this one film alone? Therefore, your comment is moot.

Remake, remake, remake!!! OMFG!!! The lizard looks stupid, and this remake may have a better storyline???? Raimi's will always be better!!!

@ejk1 Exactly. I agree with people dissing the costume still, but I think this one may be worth seeing over Raimi's campy and messed up trilogy, since the story is being done more accurately here. Hopefully it's not all out of whack, though. Bottom line, we will all have to wait and see.

Some people are making me laugh with this. As far as I know, there has yet to be any footage of the Lizard to be released. We don't know anything about Dr. Connors's transformation, whether it has stages, etc. People are killing the whole movie because of toys? Laughable.

@shuabert 'xactly! I like that they aren't revealing everything completely. It's nice.

This...does not look promising.
Well, so is the rest of this project.

@christina-montana Also it's quite likely the appearance of Lizard changes throughout the movie, as his transformation becomes more severe. There is a screen shot from Comic Con that shows him with a face that looks like a velociraptor. The fact that he looks more humanoid in these images probably suggests he doesn't reach such a feral state until far into the film.

People flipping out about the lack of snout need to chill. The original "The Lizard" doesn't have a snout.

Don't worry folks, these are just toddler kids ages 3-10 toys for them, wait until you see the "Official NECA series" that i'm sure will be made, or the adult 18+ collectible action figures with better quality in details.

What disappoint me most is that the movie will be crap. It is a pure shame that they fail to follow the comic book. And The Lizard has no reptile faces or tongue.

He looks like a Goomba from the Super Mario Bros movie, only with a bigger head. I'm having a hard time taking this movie seriously.

Bullocks! Just show an official pic already before more bad word of mouth spreads! Jeez Sony I have complete faith in this movie but they're going about it the wrong way.

Well as long as they ride those SiCK ATVs in the film I'm all in!

It looks just like the original Steve Ditko Lizard, which is cool. I sincerely doubt they'll be riding those ATVs in the movie, though. At least, I hope not. Heh.

way to judge the film by its toy collection... had the toys for Raimi's Lizard looked the same, I don't think the response would've been nearly as bad.
