@skywise A source who is working close to the production and who has read and reviewed the script. He's very trustworthy as he broke the news of the title of the movie being The Amazing Spider-Man and the casting of Emma Stone as well as other news, days before the offical announcements came. He even released and confirmed the news that the scripts given to actors during auditions for the movie were coded leading many a actress to believe they were auditioning for Mary Jane Watson when it was really for Gwen Stacy. Actually that bit of news is disapointing because Mary Elizabeth Winstead and her people were campaigning hard until she found out the role was for Gwen and not Mary Jane. She may still be cast as Mary Jane in a future film.

@dan1 @zanyzap @skywise @narrator @bawnian-dexeus @zanyzap SPOILER ALERT!!! The Web shooters in this film are a mix of organic and mechanical. He makes mechanisms to help control the floe of the web (i.e. to make straight strands for swinging and balls for web ball attacks).

@ejk1: That was my point: I want to see more, so if/when the studio holds out, my anticipation of the films rises considerably. I agree that the Lizard should not be shown and other major plot point should remain hidden, but I see nothing wrong with a few teasers. Of course, we have to consider that the film will not be release for over a year. If they're showing us somewhat revealing pictures now... then they may not have your strategy in mind. I should have clarified.

Nice observation @ejk1. It's definitely a possibility. I wonder what they'd have to argue about pre-Uncle Ben death, etc.

I dont understand why people are so UNDERWHELMED by Rhys Ifans in the Lizard makeup... the FULL Form lizard is obviously going to be CGI and not some dude in a lizard costume... Same goes for the spidey costume... the constume WILL NOT look good until its been brushed up with special effects and until the first trailer comes out! These are production picutres... NOT publicity stills ... so please stop whining as to how bad these look!

@narrator She's wearing the same outfit in the picture just beneath the one you speak of. Perhaps she had a fight with Peter?

The Narrator: The Better Man
Definitely with @ejk1 and @zanyzap. This is cool and all, but no more. I really want to see the (hopefully well done) transformation to be revealed on screen and only on screen. Definitely not this early on, and I must say, it's impractical for people to be whining about not seeing enough, when Superman (which also comes out next summer) hasn't even begun production yet. Ridiculous.

I gotta say, while I've never followed any of the comics and know of Spidey and and characters from the shows, classics and new, I'm not feeling the whole Gwen thing with Emma

@zanyzap By saying that you want more, you play directly into their hands. They know that The Lizard is a popular character, and people will be curious to see him. It just makes good business sense not to show him in full until the movie is released, like 1998's Godzilla (although hopefully with a much more successful result).

I am very impressed with these photos and my anticipation for the film has risen considerably. I never doubted Garfield's acting ability, but now I am convinced that he fits the role in appearance too. And of course, Stone, Sheen and Fields look great.
@ejk1: Good point, but I have to admit, he looks legit; I want more. They probably won't show him as The Lizard for awhile, if at all (assuming they follow your logic).

i have been watching this for a while, waiting for something to reach out and get me excited for it...nothing yet, photos of stunt work, and set pictures just is not enough..maybe the trailer will be better, once the spfx work is done, and the actual motion is there for now anyone can stand in a spiderman suit and strike a pose for the camera, same with the lizard thus far

Why would they show us the complete Lizard this early? Hell, I wouldn't show him at all. Keep the suspense going all the way until the film is released, and create as much anticipation as possible.

I'm curious as to what the f*ck direction they're going with the Lizard.

I know there is speculation and everyone seems dissapointed about the lizard thus far, but maybe the transformation is more gradual than he just turns overnight... where the end will be the climax... a lot of stories set things up that way in comics as well, and some superhero movies have gone that route... i would like it better that way though personally. i think we need to establish the characters, i for one feel that once the villains become the forefront then it can overshadow the idea and moral of the story.
