    I'd like to think I'm more of a smart ass then jack ass. To me, jack ass implies someone who's just an *sshole, whereas a smart ass is just a sarcastic, but still lovable individual :P

    @dan1: No, actually. I won't. I'm tired of reboots. Hollywood pulls them out of their ass cuz they have nothing better to do (Literally). But I think I've explained my stance plenty well already.

    Oh, and how do you say "Jack-ass" in french...

    @Fike: Thank you. That is exactly my point. If it weren't for all these f*cking reboots, we might actually get some pretty good sequels that are what do they say... "improved upon." And I'm tired of hearing that excuse to reboot as well. And "It could be better." Well, lots of things could be better.

    I could be a better typer...
    I could be a better pianist (if I actually played the piano)...

    We could all be better at something. But I guess if something's "good" its not good *enough* anymore. The truth is that nobody really complains until after the first sequel amazes but the second sequel leaves something to be desired. God forbid we should just hire a new writer and/or director and start from there (withOUT having to fall back on a reboot).

    Reboot = Everyone, RETREAT!

    ok, done with my rant now. :)

    @jptheredskull Its true that Raimi has a rabid fan base and he continues to produce good work. Hell i have been a die hard fan since Evil Dead. I even loved his wacky Crimewave. I understand that feeling of shock because i was feeling the same way when i heard they were rebooting (especialy at a time when reboots are becoming so redundant).

    But once you except that its happening and theres nothing we can do we might as well just say F it.

    Well works for me anyway but my friends tell me i'm crazy.

    @lane, Well said dude. I agree that the reboot was very unnecessary, but it is what it is. Hollywood now a days have no creative ideas anymore. its all about remakes and reboots. Obviously what Rami had was working because people went to view the movies. It was too soon to have a reboot. Every movie was a success and have great reviews....except the 3rd movie, which was an average movie.

    @cupid I can agree that it was more so the 2 of them (Dunst excluded seeing as she wasn't coming back anyways) than just one, but it was still mostly Raimi's fault for making Spider-Man 3 lackluster and writing a bad script for Spider-Man 4.

  19. CUPID

    Come on sounds like the same thing too me because sony knowing that letting Raimi go would also make Tobey and Kirsten leave. But am sure they did ask Tobey and Kirsten to stay.So were both wrong not just one person cause this the three of them leaving made this reboot happen. @jptheredskull

    @cupid they couldn't have gotten Tobey without Raimi.

    @cupid Before Raimi left, Tobey and Kirsten had already made it known that they wouldn't make a Spider-Man film without Raimi, so when Raimi actually did leave, there was NEVER a chance of Tobey or Kirsten returning. So it was Because of Raimi the reboot happened, not Tobey.

  22. CUPID

    Thats right the director left an they couldn't get Tobye same damn thing thats why they rebooted,because of Tobye an not the director because Tobye could of still stayed an made the movie. @jptheredskull

    @everyonewhothinkstheyknowabsolutelyeverythingthereistoknowaboutthereboot:

    You know what I find so funny about all of this? The number of people who are so willing to believe that Sony rebooted the franchise because Sam Raimi was doing things/adding characters they didn't want him to, yet they'll dismiss outright the possibility that the studio interfered with the production of Spider-man 3. Really!? I'm sorry but this just baffles my f*cking mind. The fact that all of you who are "all for the reboot" can come on here and spit your "haters gonna hate" mantra when you have absolutely no f*cking clue what's really going on in the fans' minds who are against this project.

    Does anyone know what rumors are? No? Okay, well let me tell you then. Rumors are "news" items or gossip (I say again, gossip) that one person "reports" as "truth" to another person that gets spread around to another person who then tells someone else until you get to the point where enough people who say it, other people will actually start to believe it. That is what we have here today folks. A f*cking disease of rumor upon rumor upon rumor that has turned into a plague of rumors to end all rumors. in regards to Spider-man 3 and the reboot: People are so quick to jump on the "Sony rebooted because Sam Raimi was destroying the franchise" bandwagon but are unwilling to accept that there were other things at play. Does no one realize how many rumors get spread around during pre-production that have absolutely NO substantial value or validity to them? How many rumors have you heard for a plethora of other big, high-profile films just like this one that NEVER come to fruition -- ever!? Take the once active but now buried Spider-man 4 "supposed fact" for example. Here, we have a "report" that claims to have had the inside scoop on the "fact" that Sam Raimi was going to add "The Vultress" to his movie otherwise known as Black Cat's Felicia Hardy. News flash! Until ANY so-called report like that comes to pass it is complete and utter speculation (Kind of like when Raimi stepped out over "creative differences. THAT is a FACT because it ACTUALLY HAPPENED).

    Here's the deal: People are going to believe what they want to believe. If some want to believe that Raimi was destroying the franchise and a reboot was needed, great. If others want to believe that Sony interfered on the Spider-man 3 production (and subsequent Spider-man 4) and that the studio screwed him out of continuing the universe he had already built upon by rebooting, also great. But whatever the case, people are going to believe what they want to believe. Nothing you do or say is ever going to change that. You are not the source of all information, and I am not the source of all information. To think any differently would be complete suicide. Sitting there typing all those letters on your keyboard trying to form any number of words that are above the average person's vocabulary does not make you the all knowing, superior being. The facts are the facts and rumors are rumors, and anyone who wants to believe which is which is perfectly entitled to do so. But forcing your opinion down someone's throat is not going to convince them that anything you say is true.

    @jptheredskull - Telling people "You're wrong (its "you are", btw, not "your") is only going to piss them off. I, like many others, believe that these "creative differences" you speak of happened long before pre-production on Spider-man 4. Again: BELIEVE what you WANT to BELIEVE. Just don't tell people they're wrong, because in their minds, you don't know sh*t.

    Bottom line, I'm a Spider-man fan. I always have been. He's always been my favorite Marvel hero, one of my favorite comic book characters, and he always will be. But I've never supported this reboot because of what I believe Sony had done. In my mind, this reboot was not only unnecessary, but a complete slap in the face to Raimi and all he had done since he left the project (The Lizard being the main villian in this first movie is proof of that, TO ME). I have voiced this opinion many times in the past. There were many different ways Sony could've handled this situation other than with an automatic reboot and they did a piss-poor job of handling it. Despite my distaste for the film and the studio, my stance from day 1 has always been I will wait to see a trailer. Some REAL, actual footage of what we can expect from this picture. If I like what I see, it may convince me to see it. If I don't like it and it doesn't disprove what I've been thinking and feeling about the project all along, then my unsupportive attitude will remain intact. If any of you want to think of that as me being a "hater", I have to repeat myself and say believe what you want to believe. It won't make it any more or less true, however. The reality is, that no matter what any of these so-called "haters" say to anyone who has a different opinion about the film are automatically going to be thrown under the bus as an uncredible and unreliable witness of events to come. Which is this: Some people simply are not going to see this film, regardless of what your dillusional little minds are telling you. So you better "get over" that fact right not. You know... stop hanging onto a *cough* lost cause *cough*

    I appreciate what some of you have tried to do here. But the blatant arrogance and hypocrisy spewing out of these comments is both offensive and appauling. Just because I'm a Spider-man fan does not mean I am going to see this film. And for any of you to be so over-confident in the fact that I, and others like me, are "going to see this film" is just laughable. I have heard many different opinions from everyone who is against this and I agree with just about everything from the design of the suit to the look and feel of the film. I. Just. Don't. Like it. Give me some footage, then maybe we'll talk. If I recall, people were saying the same damn thing about X-Men First Class until they saw the trailer. There is no difference here (except for the overwhelming amount of immense love and hate).

    @cupid, and @bawnian-dexeus Your both wring. If you go back and read some of the old articles in spider-man 4 before it was cancelled, you'd know that sony and sam raimi were have serious creative differences.

    Sam Raimi and Sony couldn't agree on the villain. The vulture was the first choice but then Raimi included felicia hardy as vulteress and then everything went to hell. Raimi and Sony's relationship became so bad that Raimi would actually put false plots in the script just to piss off sony. not very mature. Eventually, Sam Raimi left due the creative differences between him and sony.

    In result, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst decided not to return because they didn't want to do a sequel without Raimi.

    And with no director or cast for another sequel, Sony was only left with the option to reboot the series.

    Also, Sony only fast tracked the reboot because the deadline that was placed on film the release where if they didn't have a film in production by a certain date was approaching and it had to be met or they'd lose the rights to Marvel. and Sony didn't want that

    So in conclusion, Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi didn't want to come back in the end.

    and THATS WHY SONY REBOOTED!
