
The Amazing Spider-Man earns $23.4 million on the 4th of July
Director Marc Webb's 3D reboot has grossed $59.3 million during its first two days of release. The superhero origin story is currently projected to earn somewhere between $125 million and $140 million during its opening six-day frame. The adventure faces some added competition over the next few days, with Katy Perry: Part of Me opening today and Savages debuting Friday.
The Amazing Spider-Man was directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent, and Steve Kloves. Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker and Emma Stone portrays his love interest, Gwen Stacy.

$140m over six days is peanuts compared to what Avengers made in three days, and likely what TDKR will make in the same. Still, it's nothing to scoff at for an opening week. The movie is definitely a success.
