Shortlist.com recently caught up with star Andrew Garfield, who had this to say about his returning superhero.

" I want Spider-Man to be like Usain Bolt, to have that playful energy. Minimalism in film is trendy now, and I'm fed up with it. I've also been watching a lot of Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton."

The action in the sequel promises to be on a much bigger scale than before, with an opening scene that features the Rhino.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes to theaters May 2nd, 2014 and stars Martin Sheen, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Dane DeHaan, Stan Lee, Sarah Gadon, Felicity Jones, Jamie Foxx. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

The suit still looks like sh*t, it is indeed too shiny, a distraction, hope they fix it.

I agree that something about it looks off, but I'm still looking forward to it. Gotta love Spiderman.

@jonspidey07 That was the point of the first one, to differentiate it from the original trilogy. It wasn't meant to be anything like them. It wasn't even following the same template by staying more true to the story. It shouldn't feel anything like that trilogy. It should be as it is now, a complete stand-alone revamping of the story. That was Toby this is Garfield. They carefully established a tone that let the audience know from the start that it wasn't going to be the campy movie that the others were. It was a more serious tone for a character to be taken more seriously. Though it had its flaws so did the other. Its just that we're starting to get familiar with this one and have already been used to the first one. I'm personally glad that it had gotten away from the other movies in the development of the character otherwise they may as well just continue from that arc. The purpose of a reboot is to start from a fresh perspective.

    are you kidding?
they f*cked everything up with the last movie and removed it from having anything looking like Spider-Man
this sequel is getting back on track, they went back to basics with the costume and it's finally starting to feel like the 1st 3 movies!
and the footage looks extremely promising
couldn't be more pleased and excited for this movie and I am a very, very big Spider-Man fan btw
