Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will write The Amazing Spider-Man 2
"We grew up as huge Spider-Man fans so, to us, the opportunity to work on this film is akin to being handed the Holy Grail. We love the direction Sony and the filmmakers are taking the Peter Parker/Spider-Man mythology and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of this legendary franchise."
We reported back in August that Sony had set a May 2, 2014 release date for this sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, which stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. The scribes will also receive executive producer credits.
Production is tentatively scheduled to begin on the sequel in the first quarter of 2013.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes to theaters May 2nd, 2014 and stars Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Sally Field, Dane DeHaan, Andrew Garfield, Martin Sheen, Felicity Jones. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

I take it back. Orci & Kurtzman are hit-n-miss for me, some movies they wrote are great, as The Narrator pointed out. Others are not.

No! They are bad writers (IMO)! BTW that picture & costume looks cheezy as hell...
@thedude1 Vanderbilt wrote treatments. They are scripting the first draft off his treatment.

Mutant
How about they make up their own Sci-fi film or fantasy. It's one thing to contribute to a franchise but it's another when you make you're own.

Is there a reason why they won't be using the James Vanderbit script? Don't see a reason for a rewrite unless the studio doesn't like the idea which I haven't heard anything about that.

@narrator if they only outlined and supervised the script for Fallen, they still did a terrible job at letting Kruger get away with it. Nonetheless, I enjoy films from these guys, nothing too special from them yet, Star Trek was their toughest challenge and they pulled it off, but I want to see some great originality from them one day.

the Narrator
They wrote the first Transformers, Star Trek, MI:3 and other great hits. They only supervised and outlined Trans:Fallen. That was almost all Kruger, folks.

Since they seem to be going darker with the franchise, I say take another stab at Venom, and this time to do it right.

@bawnian-dexeus Well @the-movieghost kind of has a point. There seems to be something about falling/rising that people love. Revenge of the Fallen, TDKR? I would title it "The Amazing Spider-Man That Has Fallen In The Previous Film And Will Rise In This Seuqel."

@bawnian-dexeus: Oh c'mon, "The Amazing Fallen Spider-Man"? Guaranteed seller! xD
