The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will not feature Electro's green and yellow costume
"It won't be green and yellow. It will be a different color. They (the producers) want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won't be green and yellow. They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. How did he become this way? So, it will be some new stuff. In the script, this villain is the first time it's been written really, really well. Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb both commented on how great the script is, so it should be an exciting time."
The script was written by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeff Pinkner. Production is slated to begin early next year in New York City.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes to theaters May 2nd, 2014 and stars Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Sally Field, Dane DeHaan, Andrew Garfield, Martin Sheen, Felicity Jones. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

And quite frankly, I'm tired of people (you know who you are) about Spiderman not being in Avengers. Get over it.

@Sean-Ryan-Culligan Clueless fan is clueless. Sony can't use Kingpin in their Spider-Man films because they don't own the rights to the character. Nor can they use X-Men, Avengers, SHIELD, etc. All of those characters are owned by different studios.
Do you need a Boromir meme that says, "One does not simply buy back the rights to Spider-Man?" Marvel signed contracts with Sony that gives them license to keep making Spider-Man movies as long as they keep making Spider-Man movies. Until Sony is actually interested in giving the property up (which is highly unlikely as long as they keep making money off of it), then Marvel will never get the rights back.

This is why you are screwing up Spider-Man Columbia and Sony. You pick sh*tty villains and ignore story arcs that have multiple heroes and villains that should be crossing over with each other.
For the love of God. Do the right thing and make Kingpin the villain after you RETELL the Green Goblin storyline and beat it like a dead horse. If you were to go into Kingpin... You would get
crossovers with Daredevil, Punisher, the X-Men, The Avengers, Deadpool, SHIELD
and this doesn't even cover the story arc you would have with the villains!
Dr. Octavius - Doctor Octopus
Dr. Conners - The Lizard
Alistair Smythe ( Is known to work for Oscorp and the Green Goblin and would be a great lead in to Spider Man 3)
Rhino
Electro.
Kraven the Hunter
Vulture
And the most damning reason for Kingpin to be a villain is he was the director of HYDRA's branch in Vegas. The same HYDRA that's in Captain America.
The connections in Spider-Man are FAR REACHING and it all comes down to money. Marvel; get your sh*t together and buy back all of the licenses and make the Spider-Man movie the fan WANT to see. It's not about what villains are in the movie; it's how you present them on film and their story.

still think electro is a poor choice for a villain

I was hoping for an "ultimate" design but given that Electro has gone through numerous costume designs throughout his history, a change shouldn't be hard to adjust to.

As the neutral voice, I'd rather they do like Spectacular Spiderman cartoon series, and give the man a containment suit

Mutant
two bad decisions so far. What next Spidey goes around battling bad guys without his mask.
That Kraven the Hunter comes in and hunts him? Actually that sounds better.
That Dare Devil makes a cameo.
That Blade shows up and thinks he's a vampire.
That the Fantastic four helps Spidey take on Venom which their own enemy has joined forces with.
These sound better than what they want to do.

I knew they would do this.... I agree that they need to make it look real and grounded but they should have at least kept the colours to some extent to at least acknowledge the original costume. I hope they know what they are doing. I'm a huge Electro fan one of my favourite villains. Let's hope they do a good job.

Every time they (the producers) want to change the overall look of a costume, it almost never goes well for said movie. Point in turn Green Goblin (Spiderman), Hobgoblin (Spiderman 2), Mr. Freeze (Batman and Robin), Batman and Robin (cause nipples were a great choice), and Two Face's over the top look Batman and Robin; would it not be great if they would learn a lesson from the past and leave well enough alone. Updates are nice but a new direction, I am on the fence on this one.
