Last week, director Marc Webb held a live Twitter chat with Target to promote The Amazing Spider-Man's release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, and DVD. He also answered a few questions about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, including a query about the new costume.

We reported yesterday that the costume will be more faithful to the comic books in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We also reported last month that Oscar nominee Shailene Woodley is in talks to play Mary Jane Watson in the sequel. According to the filmmaker's Twitter response, it seems that she is confirmed to star.

He also joked about what it is like working with screenwriters Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeff Pinkner every day.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes to theaters May 2nd, 2014 and stars Martin Sheen, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Dane DeHaan, Stan Lee, Sarah Gadon, Felicity Jones, Jamie Foxx. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

All very exciting news...I agree with everyone saying that they would prefer white to yellow eyes...especially if they are going to make them larger.

Love the mechanical Webshooters, makes the story of Peter Parker more challenging against future villains, everything was great with the new suit, looking forward to it!

Notice how he completely ignored the "CAN WE EXPECT MORE ACTION" Question! I expect this to be nothing more than a love story LOL

Gnarly webshooters? Not necessary, but cool. Bigger eyes? You'll definitely need to make them white so as to be less distracting (which wasn't a problem with small eye-holes). Writers throwing food at Marc Webb? Awesome... I guess. Shailene Woodley most likely cast as MJ? Mmm, I'm not feeling that choice in the least.

the web shooters were good the only thing i didnt like was the red light that came on every time he shot his web. just as long as they take that off the new shooters it'll be good.

I thought his eye size was perfect. Hell, the entire outfit was perfect... I don't really know how they'll make it closer to the "original" without stepping too much into Sam Raimi territory and the coolness of this one...

The web shooters change doesn't seem as necessary to me, but it's cool he's trying to invigorate them more. As for the eyes, bigger is also good because Spider-Man's always had large eyes, but if they're gonna go larger, they can't be yellow. It took long enough for me to get used to the yellow sunglasses. Please, revert back to white.
