The A-Team Finally Gets a Release Date

After years of development hell, it looks like The A-Team is finally making some forward progress. Variety has reported that The A-Team has been scheduled for a July 12, 2009 release date.

The film, based off the 80s TV show of the same name, will be directed by John Singleton from a script by the writing team of Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. Casting for the film hasn't been announced.

The A-Team followed the exploits of a team of ex-special forces soldiers who go on the lam after being accused of crimes they didn't commit.

The A-Team was released June 11th, 2010 and stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Quinton Jackson, Sharlto Copley, Patrick Wilson, Gerald McRaney, Henry Czerny. The film is directed by Joe Carnahan.

Didn't the series originally get big because people were fascinated by Mr T? Not like they can just cast some fool to play Mr T is it? Any sugestions? Eddie Murphy perhaps?
