The 83rd Annual Academy Awards Grease Parody Featuring James Franco and Anne Hathaway

Last week, James Franco offered a short peak at the planned Grease parody that was going to open The 83rd Annual Academy Awards telecast. Featuring James Franco as Danny Zuko and co-host Anne Hathaway as Sandy Olsen, this atrocious musical number was rightly edited out of the awards show last night. Now, you can watch the whole horrible thing in the clip below.

Grease was released July 7th, 1978 and stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, Jeff Conaway, Barry Pearl, Michael Tucci, Kelly Ward, Didi Conn. The film is directed by Randal Kleiser.

The Academy Awards episode 83.1, "The 83rd Annual Academy Awards" stars Anne Hathaway, James Franco, Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey Jr., Robert Pattinson, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and is directed by Don Mischer.

I always liked Grease myself and felt like this song was one of the better ones actually. They did the right thing in not using this because it was nowhere near good enough to be.

Hathaway looks good, but that wasn't very funny or entertaining. Good thing it was excluded.

Wow! John Travolta should find James Franco and collar him. Olivia Newton-John could gripe too. Not saying I liked Grease at all. But that was pretty much the catchiest part of the movie. Glad that one was cut out. Franco would have lost some cool points had that been broadcast live. lol!

dude that was awful. glad they cut it (not that it really mattered b/c i didn't even watch the oscars - and after the trashed reviews i don't intend to catch the highlights either).

Love and other drugs was horrible, she did impress me holding her own with Meryl Streep in Devils Prada then hated the idea her playing Catwoman. Then something stranged happened last night. Something wonderful, She shined in the biggest crap fest of the year. And left Franco in the dust. Now I can't think of anyone but her doing Catwoman. Now it's interesting what she'll bring to the role. Yo Franco hope the Pot was good cause 127 hrs is over. Rise of the Apes better be good and don't wind up in the sh*tter like Burton's Apes. Also remember it's the great and powerful OZ not Weed. just saying..

I don't blame Franco, i blame the idiots ho made the bad jokes he had to say and do. He didn't have nothing to work with, he's lines were crap and he was more off stage than on stage. With what you had you did great Franco.

James Franco is a very good actor but a total dead wood when it comes to hosting(Absolutely stiff and no smile - didn't know how to speak infront of the crowd), on the other hand Anne Hathaway rocked, she knows how to speak and she was very energetic always smiling and pleasant!!
