im just mad that Hans Zimmer isnt submitting his music for the oscars anymore. He is the best film composer in Hollywood in my opinion. He has composed the most variety of films, from animatd to disney to romance to pirates to gladiators to Batman. Im disappointed he didnt submit anything

It's unbelievable and disgusting that actor Brad Renfro was snubbed at Sunday's Academy Awards when organizers left him out of a montage of stars who died in the past year. He was overlooked on a list of 98 movie industry people, that included everyone from actors and directors to public relations people!

    THAT IS SOOOO F*CKED UP!

    BRad Renfro:

"Apt Pupil", "The Client" and "Ghost World" & other great films

Not true, AndrewRyan. I can take a joke. I'm religious, but when someone makes a joke about my religion, I can laugh with them. In fact, if you made one right now, I might find it funny. And I'm not trying to rip atheism, because I'll agree religion's not perfect either (I'm catholic, spanish inquisition, end of story), it's just that Golden Compass pist me off so bad. Not only did it have the message that I mentioned earlier (and the message of the movie was serious and not a joke), but you should've seen the guy who wrote the book that the movie's based on. The douchebag would stand outside of church sunday schools of every christian religion and have seminars to make children lose their faith. Now, you can be whatever you like. Atheist, Christian, Budhist, Muslim, Scientologist, whatever, but when you start really RIPPING someone a new a**hole just because they're a different religion than you, that really makes me mad. So I hope you understand that I believe someone can believe whatever they want, just don't go attacking people in the name of your belief and go making movies about it.

Right on, err2005. I'm not necessarily an atheist, I just don't care about religion. Whatever happens to me when I die, that's what I'll believe. Life's too short to live your life worshipping someone you don't even know is real. U know how many bibles and religions there are? Too many to believe in one, so I don't care about any of them. I think transformers should have got the award, but it was for effects, not the plot of the movie. Let me guess, Espalon: ur one of those hard-assed religous types who can't take a joke and DO take offense to everything that probably doesn't pertain to you. Please answer my question.

  16. Err

    i strongly disagree with epsalon.
to quote doug stanhope about things you never hear: "200 killed today when atheist rebels took heavy shelling from the agnostic stronghold".

considering how many people have been killed in the name of god i dont think its right to put religion up on a pedestal for any reason.

  17. Err

    yeah, renfro died before ledger.
not to be cold hearted or rude or whatever, but maybe they didnt include renfro in the memorial because only one person in the entire world cared when he died.

    you know who you are.

I strongly agree with you "epsalon".

  19. LEO: Lord Epsilon Omega

Yahzee, you summed it up perfectly. The oscars ARE A JOKE!!! (As proven by Transformers not winning anything and being "beaten" by Golden Compass) And everything else you said is true, too. And by the way, while I'm on this note, what were they thinking when they even considered Golden Compass for anything? What they were thinking: "I know! You know that one movie that came out this year that had crappy visuals, crappy games, bad acting, and a story that said ALL RELIGIONS are pure evil and want to destroy the world? You know, the movie that says atheism will save the world? Let's nominate that!" Now, I'm not trying to rip on atheism or anything, but that's a bad message to be conveying and promoting, isn't it?

    4 years agoby @epsalonFlag

  20. Transformers89

I hope when Transformers 2 comes out it wins the oscar for best effects. If it still doesn't win, the oscars are out of their crazy minds.

I wanted Ellen Page to win for best actress sooooo bad!

    4 years agoby @cwalkenisthemanFlag

  25. Bink

hey celluloid, the reason Renfro wasn't included was because he died too late which means he will be in the oscars next year. the same reason Roy Scheider wasn't shown in the memorial vid.

  26. Marcus B.

i loved ellen page in JUNO but did any of you honestly even see the other performances nominated. "La Vie En Rose" was such a brave film for marion to do and was one of the most painful and amazing peformances to view. although i personally wanted pirates to win best visuals everyone seems to think that golden compass shouldn't have won because of the movie was bad, when it comes to the visual effects it doesn't matter if the film is good or bad. and pirates had the bigest budget than all of these other films and had the most groundbreaking fx work seen yet. but as for best actor and best actress unless you've seen all the performances you shouldn't really complain about who won. nuff said'

  27. Yahzee

This list just shows how much of a farce are the Oscars. Everyone knows Transformers had the best visual effects last year. And Ellen Page didn&#180t won! Obviously in this whole mess Marco Beltrami lost his nomination, but who really cares? Oscars are just friend awards that only serve to establish certain "status" to some actors and crew. They rarely go to the true best. This is just as much as a joke as the Razzies
