Texas Chainsaw 3D Trailer!

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Texas Chainsaw 3D, director John Luessenhop's horror-thriller that picks up where Tobe Hooper's original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre left off. Alexandra Daddario stars as Heather, a young woman who has inherited the Newt, Texas estate where the Leatherface murders took place. Take a look at the first footage from the latest chapter in this blood-soaked franchise.

Lionsgate's Texas Chainsaw 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family--or so they thought. Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion's dank cellars...

Texas Chainsaw 3D was released January 4th, 2013 and stars Alexandra Daddario, Dan Yeager, Trey Songz, Scott Eastwood, Tania Raymonde, Shaun Sipos, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, James MacDonald. The film is directed by John Luessenhop.

Actors look of course like they don't know to act obviously, how about choose a different profession, Jesus who casts these people?

This looks horrible! Nothing about this has me excited, and yes I'm judging this movie by its trailer. * if you pause during the scene where leatherface is cranking up his chainsaw with him in full view and you think to yourself "wow that looks like sh*t" - then good for you*

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I understand but I found it very macabre. Not quite as good as the original which (as a child) scared the hell out of me and gave me nightmares.

The thing about horror movies as an adult is that they are not scary. We know that it is not real, we are not children anymore. But having been effected by horror movies like that when I was a kid has given me fond sense of nostalgia. My parents were huge horror fans so I was subjected to that genre when I was young.

Are most of them cheeze? Absolutly. It is still fun when they are done right.

@deepsky926 There is a difference between having an open mind, and just accepting any bullsh*t Hollywood throws your way. The horror movie genre is notoriously difficult to generate genuine scares because just about every gimmick has been used by now. Most people are aware of this. Even the latest fad of hand held camera/Paranormal Activity style of horror will die down soon enough.

Of the latest ones I've seen, The Woman in Black was stylish but never scared me, and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark had a very interesting concept, but never quite pushed the envelope (I wanted to see what their world looked like under the house...). They seemed to focus too much on the depression of the characters than the actual scares.

Sinister looks like it might be alright, and maybe Del Toro's latest. I haven't given up on the genre, but I do look at each new one with a skeptical eye because they rarely deliver.

@deepsky926 Well all the movies you stated were complete sh*t... but that's fine... you can not assume we go into there without an open mind... but this is telling the same story we have seen in every slasher/whatever kind of murderous chasing slutty girls movie you want to call it... There is nothing here offering us anything new, different, improved... it's just more of the same crap!

@deepsky926 -- I'll keep my high-standards, and you can thrive on your low-standards. Must be sweet, being pleased by everything.

@skywise -- Even that wasn't enough to save that disastrous movie. The movie was so bad, that I actually didn't realize what you guys pointed out.

Tired of the crybabies complaining, they complained about the 2003 remake and the prequel. The prequel i can understand why because it was to predictable, you knew they were all gonna die. But the remake was great for being a remake! Plus come on it had Jessica Biel!

I actually think this will be great for a continuation of Leatherface. Hopefully its a decent story that will breathe life into the franchise and give us some answers/details as to what happened after they were found out. Its just the damn 3D that's gonna mean were in for some cheesy 3D chainsaw spots. Also i thinks its prefect to have a no name/body cast so that the movie isn't over shadowed(in the 03 remake Biel was still making a name for her self).

Overall people will be people and complain! Its today's society where we people are never satisfied and never will be. Especially in horrors movies, if you go in with high expectations you'll never be satisfied or scared (e.g. Transformers2, Freddy Krugger remake, Friday the 13th remake, all which i enjoyed). Going into a movie with an open mind your bound to get your moneys worth and maybe a few scares. Can't we just enjoy horror movies for being a slasher film and its gore fest?

*yes i know Transformers2 isn't a horror movie, but its related and good enough example for my statement.

I could honestly care less how much of a true sequel it is or not. Leatherface is by far my favorite and this will be just a dumb, fun, slasher flick.

The last 2 remakes were the best of the best no disrespect to the org. But a remake or reboot is not needed here, thats what 2003 was for and the final of that1 should have ended there. If you wanna 3D ur sh*t, just go 3d that1 but stop remaking them &
Noticed how alot of legends are still Tx Chainsaw. Freddy, Jason, Myers, Chucky ect, And nobody has even tryed to make a new1 for our generation, So they just go back to those films and either add another part to them or reboot/remake them.

@mcleve02 well said, looks like it should have gone right to dvd. They even cast the token black guy. Looks cheap and I actually enjoyed both the remake and the prequel Platinum Dunes made. I think this will bomb. At least the Platinum Dunes had some good actors and not these wanna bes they found in some alley.
