Terminator 5 Wants Paul Walker as Kyle Reese

Paul Walker may play Kyle Reese in Terminator 5
Paul Walker may play Kyle Reese in Terminator 5
Last month we reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting his acting career on hold to resolve matters in his personal life. One of the projects believed to be delayed by the actor's hiatus is Terminator 5, although that may not be the case.

It seems Terminator 5 will be anchored by a younger male lead, with Paul Walker rumored as a potential candidate to play Kyle Reese. Terminator 5 director Justin Lin recently worked with Paul Walker on the blockbuster sequel Fast Five.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is still said to have a pivotal role in Terminator 5. It seems that producers are still planning to move forward on the project despite the actor's hiatus. There is talk the producers may lessen Arnold Schwarzenegger's screen time in Terminator 5, which may entice him to come back onto the project, since it will be less of a time commitment.

There was also a rumor in May that Terminator 5 will reunite the original cast of The Terminator. Though now it seems that original characters from The Terminator may return, but not necessarily the original actors who played them. The potential plan for Terminator 5 is likened to J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, with a new crop of actors portraying these original characters.

It isn't known when production will start on Terminator 5 at this time.

Terminator 5 is in development and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.

@vanboy and also... just to mention obi wan does say that, but george fixed that continuity because yoda was the one that trained the younglings prior to them getting a master and becoming a padawan, this has been in the expanded universe as well in attack of the clones, which shows yoda in training with the younglings. so "from a certain point of view" obi wan was correct when he said that.

@vanboy yes... true... but if that is the case then there were contradictions in the first one as most of the chase sequences were at night, and the terminator had no problem tracking them down... i do get what you are saying though, and i understand the whole point of the original of the terminator evolving, and being able to figure certain things out based on the poor choices that the human counterparts were making... ex: sarah connor leaving a message of where she is.

@highcaliberinc, Salvation wasn't a black hole of horrible Terminator movies, but if you don't know why it sucked, you'd have to be a real Terminator fan to know why it pissed Terminator fans off. My biggest thing that I hated was the fact that the young Kyle Reese says to Marcus at the observatory, that "It's getting too dark to go out. Terminators have thermal imaging. It's not safe to go out after dark" (or something to the effect) While the older Kyle Reese in 1984 says to Sarah Conner in the Original Terminator, "We have to stay down by day, but at night it's safe to move around". All Terminator fans have been waiting for the night battles that we've only gotten a glance of in the prior three movies. McG wanted to make a Road Warrior movie. He said it himself. So he's willing to spooge all over Terminator lore to fulfill his pansy fantasy. Directors must be assigned key limitations and a list of Terminator facts that are set in stone. Changing that was as bad as George Lucas Creating Qui Gon Jin in the Phantom Menace, and have HIM trane Obi Won Kenobi, when clearly the spirit of Obi Won (in The Empire Strikes Back) says to Yoda in defense of Luke's future Jedi Training, "Was I any different when you trained me?" I loath changed premises!

Hey Godsneezed, shut up. Terminator fans around the world would love to have Paul Walker as Kyle Reese. You're yalking about Award winning actors and such. Terminator movies are for fun and excitement. We're not talking about King's Speach stupid. The more the Terminator movies the happier I'll be. Besides, if your not a fan just shut up and go back to watching the latest Bring It On sequel.

Paul Walker sucks period! Those who think Christian Bale's a hack, at least he's a nominated award winner. What has Paul Walker ever won? A Raspberry award. Let me guess, Vin Diesel as the new Terminator....Lol! Besides, any new Terminater movie is destined for failure, that theme has come and gone. Hollywood come up with something more original.

Paul Walker as Kyle Reese sounds like a much better idea than bringing back an old and fat Arnold the Impregnator as a terminator. Do the machines have an AARP division?

Salvation was terrible. F*ck McG (stupid name)
This one will be action packed but it wont have the heart of the first two terminator films (two having the most heart and will remain the best)

I don't want a reboot since I thought Salvation was awesome, but I'm totally onboard for Walker as Kyle Reese.

I agree with most here... Lets be honest, nobody ever really "wants" Paul Walker. ..and I believe Terminator Salvation to be a better movie than it got credit for. Can't wait to see how this potential monstrosity turns out...

If Paul Walker is confirmed as Kyle Reese then Terminator 5 should have him battling along side with another freedom fighters against the terminators before he meets John Connor and is sended to the past by the time machine which would be the ending of the film.

I don't know if Terminator 5 is a prequel or a seuqel but that story would be a great storyline for a terminator prequel movie.

I can only take Paul Walker in small doses... He was alright in the Fast franchise and perhaps "Running Scared", but is it me, or does anyone else think he is a monosyllabic actor with not much range. He seems to play all his characters the same. I wish the suits that greenlight projects would actually put some thought into the film-making process again. Please re-think this. I would rather have it done right and wait for it then have my expectations terminated... yeah, I said it.....

Paul is in this----, last I heard Vin is in it as well. Just don't bring back Bale, he should only be Batman for the next ten years.

I would rather see TSCC as TV films.

@jptheredskull Plus, I don't think Bale will return for this either so I say suit Walker up for the role. Kyle Reese should be played by the same kid as last time, he was much better for the role. Then again...if they are gonna change everything anyhow, just change the whole damn cast. I have faith in Lin, he can restore the series.

  22. J.P.

@corey Agreed. I see him more as the John Connor type as opposed to Kyle Reese.

I actually think Paul Walker would be a good choice. Terminator Salvation wasn't bad at all, it was better than 3. Christian Bale messed up Salvation, he sucks. Now what I think would be stupid is if they put diesel in it, that' would just be too predictable.
