Teri Polo has signed on to star in Joe Dante's supernatural feature The Hole.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress has also been tapped for two episodes of CBS' supernatural drama Ghost Whisperer.

The Hole, from Bold Films and Benderspink, centers on Susan (Polo), a mother who moves with her teen sons to a rural house where the three are forced to face their fears after discovering a bottomless hole in the basement.

Also cast in the project, penned by Mark L. Smith, is Haley Bennett. She will play Julie, a neighbor who is attracted to one of the sons.

Production on the film, which will be filmed in 3-D, starts Dec. 5 in Vancouver.

On Ghost Whisperer, Polo will play the fiancee of somebody close to Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Additionally, she will guest-star on the 150th episode of CBS' CSI: Miami on Nov. 17, playing the mother of a kidnapped baby.

The Hole was released in 2010 and stars Chris Massoglia, Haley Bennett, Teri Polo, Bruce Dern, Nathan Gamble, Quinn Lord, John DeSantis, Merritt Patterson. The film is directed by Joe Dante.
