Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Heads to Nickelodeon in 2012
Nickelodeon has spent $60 million dollars in acquiring the global rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, and is planning to launch a brand new CGI animated series sometime in 2012. Nickelodeon has provided a first-look photo featuring its cast of iconic characters including Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. Check out the image below, followed by more details.
Series executive producer Ciro Nieli says about this new incarnation that the turtles will have more individual attributes, but they will also be the turtles we've come to know and love. The show will make its debut in 2012, but there is not a firm release date at this time. Nickelodeon and parent company Paramount Pictures is also planning to launch a live action feature sometime in the near future.

yeah the use of brushes is awesome, but the actual turtle style...nope. I would've liked them to look more manly. The only thing hot about them now is the bandages. Honestly, look at Donatello's expression..he looks like Mykee should look. And Mykee looks like an Alien.

Why Cant all these cartoons be or look like "toy story"? So to save money they go as low as dumb art?, i really love the idea of today's cartoons looking 1000x better than the 80s but 4 sum reason.they dont. I think the cgi movie of the tmnt was aka perfect! hope this 1 is like that or just better than the old1.

@dan1@Monkey-iron That's because the 2003 series is the truest version of TMNT that closely resembles the comic books, which is the true creation of these characters that Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman intended them to be. The 1987 cartoon was a watered-down kids extravaganza, that really, was not the Turtles at all. The movies were based on that kid show. While we all may have loved them as kids, when you go back and look at Eastman's and Laird's creation, the TMNT are a very different thing that what you thought, a much more darker and gritty tale. Since Mirage sold the rights after the 25th anniversary in 2009, I am not really for this. Nickelodeon's take? No thanks. I'll stick with the true sources.

I'm not liking the art on this, though to be fair, it is only a drawing and "concept" i hope it looks better in motion, like ThunderCats does...
