Ted Danson has joined the cast of FX's untitled legal thriller written by Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler; Glenn Close stars.

The show marks Danson's first-ever drama series role on cable. Variety reports he'll play Arthur Frobisher, a corporate exec involved in a class-action lawsuit brought by the high-stakes litigator Patty Hewes (Close).

Allen Coulter will direct the pilot for the show; production begins next week in New York.
