Taylor Lautner wanted for The Expendables 2
Now comes news that three other aging action icons are being added to this wish list. Christian Slater, Christopher Lambert, and Nicolas Cage are at the top of Sylvester Stallone's wanted roster. But in the past, the one thing he's always made clear is, he will add some new blood to this sequel.
The only name we've heard tossed about in recent months is Ryan Seacrest, who has never acted in any action movie before. Though, Sylvester Stallone seems quite serious about casting him in some capacity. Now, we have word that Taylor Lautner is the number one new guy they want to add to the cast.
Lionsgate is quite pleased with Taylor Lautner's role in the upcoming action flick Abduction, and they are pulling hard for him to be in the movie. Sylvester Stallone is also impressed with the nineteen-year-old's physic and stunt performing abilities. He seems to be one of the few young actors out there, with the exception of Marvel's stable of buff dudes, that can actually go toe-to-toe with some of these aging, yet still in great shape, icons of the action genre.

The Expendables 2 comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li. The film is directed by Simon West.

Please man big big NOOOOOOOOOOO!! I really enjoyed the first one, the cast line up was fab but this one is gonna be a complete disaster!! x

Ha! I was going to say that you can't NOT laugh at Gerard Butler because of his accent, but that pretty much sums up 90% of the cast of the movie. Good choice though. I agree that he would be good for the movie. Ryan Reynolds though?? No. Sorry @adam Weaber, but Reynolds is less of a good choice as Lautner. Although I still say give their choices a chance, and it's not set in stone. I want to see a badass action flick, not some movie catering to anyone but for us action fans.

Haha Lautner...seriously, come on...that would ruin the awesomness of the MAN MOVIE...I think if we are talkin bout adding some old school/new school people there r a lot to consider....this movie is action so who comes to mind...Segal, Norris, Snipes...newer...HOW THE HECK is Vin Diesel not in this movie...i mean seriously he looks, talks, and craps action...still confused on how Coture, Crews made it in the movie and not Vin...mind blowing....others that would be better than Lautner...Ryan Reynolds...not an action star but sure as hell can play one, butler was good idea too, but seriously the missin pieces are norris, JCVD, segal, and definitely Vin...just sayin

Let Lautner build his career elsewhere. This is a movie of men, not boys. Like the thought of Christopher Lambert and Christian Kane....or Sean Bean. If you want someone newer, Gerard Butler is always a good choice.

I am a Lautner fan, however I believe that Christian Kane of "Leverage" would be a better choice for this action packed movie. Lautner may be too young for this cast. Some maturity is called for. Lautner may be overwhelmed by older more experenced actors already cast.

Christian Kane would be perfect! He's an amazing actor who also does his own stunts. He so completely absorbs whatever role he plays, and Dean Devlin and Jon Rogers often keep his ad libs in Leverage! Additionally, with the 'Kaniac Nation' behind him, ya just can't go wrong!

I seriously think they need to look at Christian Kane. Noone's a bigger asskicking badass than him. He's got the talent; the attitude; the fighting/stunt skills and the looks that Expendables 2 needs. Just take a look at TNT's "Leverage" and they will see what he's like. If it's new young blood they are looking for then look no farther..Christian Kane's the man!!

you guys are so obnoixous(spelt wrong?) they dont give him a frickin script to do and he does it done NO! they give him a script and if he kicks lamely they tell him do it better they show him pointers and help him then there he's trained to kick a sumo wrestler around the world and he will have old timers by his side who have been trained to kick a sumo wrestler so hard he goes 80 times around the world and there experts and what do you expect from ld timers asoon as taylor is casted (maybe) they will teach him the ropes! Give Lautner a chance. Yes, he was in those dumb ass Twilight movies, but he deserves to make his mark like anyone else. EVERY single one of the actors mentioned in your posts had to start somewhere. Look up your favorite actions stars and see just where they started. You will be shocked. Look up 'Monaco Forever' or 'The Italian Stallion' for example.
