Taylor Kitsch on Being Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Hitch revealed that while he knew of the character, he wasn't familiar with the huge following Gambit had. "I knew of him," Hitch said "But I didn't know the following he had, and I'm sure I'm still going to be exposed to that. I love the character, I love the powers, and I love what they did with him. I didn't know that much, but in my experience, it was a blessing to go in and create my take on him. I'm excited for it, to say the least."
Hitch also revealed that he was honored to get the chance to work with the star of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Hugh Jackman. "I'd say Hugh Jackman is a huge influence on my life, as a person and as an actor, and it was an amazing experience," Hitch revealed. When asked how Jackman was an influence, he continued "To be honest, it's an aura that, in this business, I've never come across. He's incredibly disciplined and free. There's just something about him. You walk away and he hits you. He's just this person that's so grounded and so open that you question whether it's real or not. I've met nobody like him. The way he welcomed me on set, it was just a huge influence."

I'm hoping they don't mess with Gambit's origin story. I mean, they're already messing around by putting him in at the time of Wolvie's experiments with Weapon X, an estimated 17 years before the X-Men officially form as a team. But c'mon. And they did use Hitch through the entire article when the title says Kitsch and so does the list of actors in the end paragraph. MovieWeb needs a new editor.

I would agree, Gambit was honestly always my favorite.. I would be outside trying to throw cards and a broken off broom at my side. I remember when the game came out for Sega, I would only play as Gambit.. its about time they bring him in.

First things first, why are they calling him Hitch throughout the entire article lol...I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that, Phat. His last name is Kitsch. Secondly, I hope Gambit's dialogue in the film makes more sense than what this guy said in his mini interview cause that whole Hugh Jackman paragraph was like 'what the f*ck is this guy talking about?' lol.
Thirdly, he's the 2nd coolest X-Men after Wolverine, I'm pretty sure most people would agree with that, and with that being said, yogart vegeteba or whatever the f*ck your name is, he has a huge following. That's like saying 'oh i can't find anyone who likes Wolverine'. Don't be dumb. K thanks.

I will definitely see this one not just for Gambit but for Dead Pool. Hopefully Gambit doesn't have like 3 minutes of screen time or the Gambit fan boys might riot, since their all still pissed he wasn't in any of the X-men movies.

I know about three or four, but none of them are what I'd call comic book people, mostly they just like the old cartoons.
I Think Watchmen already has eyes set on Best Movie of '09.

Huge following? I can't find a handful of people at one time who will swear to being a fan of Gambit!
That being said, I have been a fan of Gambit. Now he might as well be a ghost in comics. They devalued his character immensely.
