Taylor Kitsch offered the lead in Need for Speed
We reported back in May that Scott Waugh has signed on to direct, from a screenplay written by brothers George Gatins and John Gatins. The project is adapted from the long-running Electronic Arts video game franchise, although no story details were given. DreamWorks is seeking to launch a franchise similar to the Fast & Furious series.
We reported last month that DreamWorks has set a 2014 release date, although it isn't known when production will begin.
Need for Speed comes to theaters February 7th, 2014 and stars Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots, Dominic Cooper, Michael Keaton, Kid Cudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek, Harrison Gilbertson. The film is directed by Scott Waugh.

THE JOKER
He just needs to grab better roles... He had his chance at Catching Fire... Wish he could have worked that out.. The Hunger Games will definitely bring in some money

@christina-montana -- I think at the end of its' run, it'll gross around $53 million worldwide. Hard to say if it'll be a complete flop, though.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Savages has made $40.1 million, but it's estimated budget was $45mil so... not technically a flop, I suppose. But... calculate in promotion and it still needs to make a bit more

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx It won't reach it's full budget, so it's three flops in a row

Yannick Decorte
@bawnian-dexeus That, or you know, Lone Survivor, with Mark Wahlberg and Ben Foster and directed by Peter Berg. His first two leading roles grossed $600 mil., so despite the fact that they flopped, it's still guaranteed he'll be making movies for some time.

Great actor, I don't know whether he should accept the part or not, but I'll see anything he's in and I'm gonna be seeing Need for Speed too anyway.
