According to Variety, Taye Diggs is close to signing on to star in the ABC drama pilot Daybreak.

Diggs (Kevin Hill) will star as an L.A.-based cop wrongfully accused of murder in Daybreak. While trying to figure out who framed him, Diggs' character must also race to stop another murder from happening. Rob Bowman (The X-Files) is directing.

Paul Zbyszewski and Matt Gross are behind Daybreak, which comes from Touchstone TV. Diggs' most recent credits include a guest stint on Will & Grace and the feature Rent.
