Tales From the Crypt returning to television
Unlike the original Tales from the Crypt series, which ran from 1989 to 1996 on HBO, this new incarnation will not be an anthology series. It isn't known if the iconic Crypt Keeper character will still be used. Here's what Andrew Cosby had to say about this new program.
"It will be an ongoing series that uses characters from the comic books in a more modern context. It's all about continually elevating the genre, for both existing fans of the source material and mainstream audiences."
The project will be shopped around to broadcast and cable networks shortly. Cinemax has been mentioned as a possible home for the project, but it's too early to tell at this point.

This might sound like a dumb question but, was there ever a "Tales from the Crypt" live movie ?, i mean like, in theaters. ! because if there hasnt been1, nows the time to come up w sumthing really powerful, for say...fall 2012., id really love it if they went all out w it, , and im not saying a remake to any of the old shows but rather sumthing org, and new,

The original Tales was fun so I hope this one follows it their footsteps, sounds like it should be but I agree that it will be strange to not have the crypt keeper.

F*CKING A .... Aslong as the Cryptkeeper is in it and it keeps the opening theme song and credits i'm am so there :)
This was one of the best tv series that ever showed on tv,got the whole set and the comics.

I love "tales from the Crypt"...I own 2 seasons on DVD...loved the cartoon to ....But come one "Tales from the Crypt" without the Cryptkeeper ...is just ...BS!!! ......and why not "anthology series"..... this sounds confusing....

I can actually do the voice, it's dead on. I loved the show, The Cryptkeeper needs to be in this, without him it's just another horror TV series.
I would like to see another character, he's mentioned in the old one that his wife was around.

i never understood these shows back in the days, however i loved the intro thing. that thundering, webby, haunted house theme, then at the end, the opening casket., Its been yrs since i seen1, (a show that is) hopfully they keep the same intro clip. and or better it, i dont care, but i hope i can get a much better understandin on wat these shows are. they r kinda like twilight zone in a way!.

Its not Tales from the Crypt without the Cryptkeeper, theyve gota have him in it, otherwise its just a horror anthology show that so happens to be titled Tales from the Crypt... i used to love the occasional hollywood star popping up in episodes, hope they keep that trend also
